Florida just enacted a law that healthcare providers are specifically allowed to deny treatment based on moral, ethical, or religious beliefs. The law is meant to allow doctors to deny treatment to the gays and the trans, and women seeking abortions - but I guess you're right that if a "leftist health care worker" decides to google a patient and finds out that they are a Nazi, it would work there, too. https://www.tampabay.com/news/florida-politics/2023/05/01/florida-doctor-medical-conscience-lawsuit-protection/ |
You…know that how someone voted is not on Google? Right? |
This is scary, not because Democrats would do this, but because every accusation is a confession from these yahoos, so I guess they're doing some version of this. It's also funny that pushing for better healthcare outcomes for women and minorities, reproductive healthcare freedom, and access to healthcare for poor people is what leads republicans to think Democrats would withhold lifesaving services from conservatives. In their minds, we want to make the world better for everyone = we want to hurt you or kill you. |
The left is in your imagination? What a small, dark place to be.
|
Of course reality is the exact opposite of your delusional fantasies. Every clinic worker or volunteer has a story about a protester seeking an abortion. |
Are you a troll trying to provoke, or spitting this without any hint of irony? And if it's the latter, where is your post about right-winger health care workers simply letting patients die or suffer to prove THEIR points about religious freedom and their extremist beliefs? |
|
Right wingers can't have it both ways. They refuse to amend draconian laws to make it ultra clear when abortions can be given to save the life or health of the mother -- probably because they think some abortions would squeak by for pregnancies that ultimately wouldn't have killed the mother, so secretly they'd rather endanger a woman's life than to allow a handful of abortions in cases that were less clear-cut. But they know that's an unpopular thing to admit so they won't acknowledge it publicly.
So they're going to have to put up with hospitals being conservative in giving the green light for abortions. Because that's what they've written into law. |
| Dobbs radicalized me. I am donating and voting for abortion access for all. I was one of those pro choice women who never thought Roe would be overturned and thought people who who made those types of statements were alarmist. I am almost at menopause but have the money and the time to work toward a better world for our daughters. |
Abortion is going to tear this country apart. It's a bunch of conservative billionaires trying to push their views on 333 million people. |
We made it through 50 years with roe and when eventually we get something like roe back again, earth will spin on. |
Thank you for your work. Serious question, were you not the slightest concerned when states we’re passing bill after bill curbing access to abortion? |
Different poster but similar age. I thought abortion access was a protected right. I rationalized participating in local Catholic parish for the soup kitchen and he homeless shelter thinking this place is hopelessly out of touch on issues of reproduction and I will just ignore that like millions of other Catholics. No more. I no longer attend and will never give another dime. I do still volunteer at the food pantry because there is such tremendous need. I give zero money or time to the church itself and the pews are more empty every week. |
Not saying this to hurt anyone who didn’t want to believe where the GOP was going, but moderates are strongly tied to the status quo and in doing so, they allow flat out evil - like Republicans openly celebrating laws that will kill women and dump millions of children into poverty - to flourish. |
Overturning roe is squarely on the republicans and they will pay at the ballot box for the destruction they have wrought. |
Honestly I believed that there are crazies out there in state govts but I never thought Roe would be overturned. I was seriously deluded about the nature of the anti women contingent in the United States. |
