| Now that the budget has passed, what are you being told about furloughs? Any changes? What agency do you work for and how many days are you expecting? |
| I work for the Federal Public Defender (part of Judiciary). We are a small office and therefore hit hard....27 days of furlough each. |
|
Originally told "up to 14 days" at FBI.
Advised last week that some extra money had been found and that it was down to 11 days. Heard a rumor today that the new budget helped us and it could be as few as 4 days, but not counting on anything until I see it in writing. |
| The budget passing does not affect furloughs in most cases. We still are underbudgeted due to the sequester. |
| The budget is for next fiscal year and isn't a binding document. Money still has to be appropriated. So far as I know, it has zero to do with the sequester or furloughs. |
| If by "budget" people mean the CR then it certainly does affect the sequester and furloughs. We seem to be worse off under the CR than we were a month ago under just the sequester. Probably 13 days. |

This is the OP. Sorry, I should have been more clear. I'm referring to the continuing resolution that runs through the end of the fiscal year, as referenced here:

What agency? |
| No fed is going to be furloughed, even for a day. |
|
My agency had previously said they didn't anticipate furloughs, but the CR wasn't good for us and now they are backtracking. I think we might end up with a few days.
|
you are nuts. |
| NPS, none. |
Name me one agency and date that anyone will not report to work and not be paid. It's all talk. |
|
I work at a federal agency and we have all received our official notices with exact dates when we be furloughed.
The CR funded the government for the rest of the fiscal year and there were elements or the CR that helped some agencies avoid all of the cuts of the sequester. For example i heard that some parts of DOD will be furloughed less than what they originally said, which was 22. My agency didn't get anything so we will be furloughed. |
| We learned this afternoon that our budget (DOJ component) is taking another hit. Funds are being transferred to the Bureau of Prisons to prevent the furlough of prison guards. Still waiting on the exact number of furlough days. |
