Does anyone know when to expect this years IAAT test scores?

In the past, the results arrived in the mail at the end of March. I have no idea bout this year, though.

^^ should be ABOUT this year

FCPS?? It was my understanding the results were suppose to be in prior to 7th grade class selection due date. Which has already passed.

Has anyone received their child's for this year?

Why? Algebra I placement in 7th grade is based upon both the IAAT results and the math SOL. Math placement for 7th grade therefore would not be determined until the summer.

You're correct and the earlier person who posted was wrong. The results do not have to be in place before 7th grade course selections. The placement depends on the spring math SOL which hasn't been administered yet. You find out placement over the summer.

Iowa test results arrived in our mail today so I am sure they're coming to everyone this week, probably. I noticed that ours was sent by our school, not by some FCPS central site, so if you don't hear soon, your school would be the place to check.

True, but if a child does well in the IAAT, he/she usually gets a pass advance in the Math SOL.

This was certainly not the case last year, with the new math standards for the SOL.

Not really it just brings it closer to the former rule. A few years ago students had to pass the 8th grade SOL and the state made them move it to the 7th grade SOL. If a student is ready for Algebra he should be able to pass the SOL that comes two years prior to Algebra. If a student does well (>91 percentile on IAAT) and doesn't do well on the 7th grade SOL, then perhaps his/her preparation was sloppy and he/she needs more reinforcement.

Today's 7th grade Math SOL standards are very different from the long-time-ago 8th grade math SOL standards.

Long time ago is two years! Plus they don't take the 8th grade SOL, they take the 7th grade SOL. If they can't get a pass advance on that they should NOT be taking Honors Algebra in 7th. Plain and simple.

06:22 referred to the 8th grade SOL from several years ago.
