Landon School Disaster

Anonymous
Anyone have problems with Landon School - We sent in application, interviewed and had a shadow day--As of today no admission decision and no return call from the school

I mean is this really a disaster? Could the title of your thread been more exaggerated??

The "disaster" may very well ne the current state of the USPS. Does any house on a neighboring block have exact same street number as you. We got 5 Christmas cards and tw W-2's for a house one block over from ours with same street number.

I think our mail carrier is always talking on his cell via his blue tooth.

Thanks for the understanding--clearly some people havent had to deal with the stress of the application process

I thought a student had died tragically or a teacher arrested for molestation. And I'm also going through the application process. Just call them.

Same here. Sounds lke OP could write for the National Enquirer. No one is falling for the USPS excuse. Waiting for a notice didn't merit such a serious title.

Speaking of USPS, I actually found a bunch of a neighborsail in the bushes near our mailbox, that included college acceptance and decline letters. Since they were all her mail, I hoped they'd blown there despite it being postal worker responsibility. Despite this I would call! You'll either hear about acceptance or not.

Our neighbor brought over waterlogged mail of ours that ended up in their tree this week. What is going on with USPS?

But yes, OP, just call the school. Given Landon's past history, a subject line like that attached to a post about not hearing back from them yet was probably not the best move.

DCUMers are so melodramatic!

Really having trouble understanding how you think that posting your issue with that subject line would really help you solve the problem.

As previous posters have said why not call the person you interviewed with or send them an email.

Since decisions already went out, seems strange you would not have heard anything.

I don't think it's a Landon disaster. I think it's a USPS disaster. Although I do think it's bad form of the school not to return your call.

OP, you do not seem very bright! You posted here instead of calling the school? By now, you have outed yourself to the school and if they did not accept your kid, I am pretty sure they are glad to have dodged that bullet. You seem like a dramatic PITA!

Although everyone pouncing on this thread couldn't wait to read about an actual disaster.

We did not receive a ;etter from Potomac School. I called them. They gave us the decisuion over the phone and mailed us a new letter. A week later the first letter showed up. It had been marked up on the outside but otherwise seemed fine. Our Postal Srvice has some quality issues. Call the receptionist in admission, OP. It is really and she always picks up.
