Anyone worried about this. Drive by shooting woulda 13, 2 blocks from new home of MV. OK was 2 o'clock this morning, not exactly drop off time but still.
|
| I thought the same thing this morning while avoiding my typical commute down N. Capital |
| Welcome to NoMa. |
I meant wounds 13. |
MV is not right outside a housing project, and the students won't be loitering in front of the building looking for trouble at 1am. It has much more in common with the other charter schools just down the street. They're *right* around the corner from a nice little bakery/cafe, where you can hopefully meet up with other parents, or treat yourself and DC on the way home. http://www.unclechips.com/ |
| Sursum Corda has been the trouble spot there for decades. Not sure why this is news. |
| ^But even Sursum Corda is not what it use to be. The area closest to MV is Hanover place off O St and 1st St which was featured in an article on the front page of the WaPo last week. Apparently it used to be an open air drug market back in the day: Now populated by fed workers, lawyers and IT people like the rest of NW. |
| Sursum Corda is being razed - not sure where they are going to relocate all of the families that currently live their to. |
Sursum Corda is several blocks south. And this is news because the shooting happened just 24 hours ago. |
It was Tyler House, not Sursum Corda. |
| Come on guys, it's a full 0.2 miles away. |
| This is dumb. Not that close to the school and not even during the day. I would be more worried about a disgruntled Middle Aged white man than Mexicans or black folk. |
| 2 blocks, and the whole neighborhood area is referred to as Sursum Corda. It needs to be razed. |
|
Really? I've never heard of the neighborhood being referred to as Sursum Corda.
And what are the dimensions of the area you think needs to be razed? |
It's a housing project. Geeze. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sursum_Corda_Cooperative,_Washington,_D.C. |
