How often is your maid service late?

Anonymous
Serious question. Almost every time (except once) I've had a cleaning they have been 30mins to several hours late. I find it very unprofessional. Any one else?

Never know because they clean when I'm not home. They give me a block of time when they will show, like 8:30-10:30. I'm actually a little surprised they give a set time for you and not a window like mine. They never know what they might run into at prior houses.

Never. I pay by the hour and say that their hours are 9:00 am -1:00 pm. I fire if they are tardy.

Ours is supposed to come when no one is home - that's an 8-9 hour window of time, but several times have come in the late afternoon, then we are stuck moving from room to room or eating out for dinner. So annoying, so went with a new service.

I clean my own home so if I show up late, I blame myself.

What a helpful contribution.

They have a 4hr window.

Next post up: some douchebag will be bitching that their house was not clean enough by the maids because fucktard #2 wanted maids to be on time.

I don't have a maid, so I don't have this problem. I always find it amusing when people will pay for a gym membership or a personal trainer and yet hire people to do all of the manual labor of day-to-day life, like house cleaning and yard work.

Right, because most of my gym workout involves reaching under things while crawling around on a tile floor.

Often, and I'm considering firing her because she keeps doing a shitty job trying to fit someone in before us and then bumping up against the baby's nap time. I don't mind getting out of their way in the morning, but I'm not willing to be walking around a tired crying baby so they can finish vacuuming or whatever. They also have a 4 hour window, but we had a clear agreement that the end time is firm.

I earn a lot doing my own job, so I pay someone else to clean so I can spend the evenings and weekends with the kids. It's actually pretty rationale. I don't have a personal trainer, but if I wanted one, I'd pay someone because that's expertise I don't have myself.

That said, this is a first world problem. Unless you have a party and they're still cleaning when the guests show up, I don't see the problem here. And firing them for tardiness ... hope that was a joke!

Hon, I'm too rich to clean my own house. I have a housekeeper, not a maid. I don't even wash dishes. Mow the lawn? Too big. We have people for that. Gym membership? Nope. Gym in my house.

Oh yea. I don't work either and hardly fly commercial.

It involves moving around, lifting things, going up and down stairs, et cetera. Going up and down (bending over and reaching up) actually raise the heart rate quite a bit. It's a low impact way to get cardio. Once upon a time, humans kept in shape by doing such things, as opposed to going to a gym. The "gym" is a modern, first-world invention.

And? If one wants to get maid service, what's the harm? Both the maid and the person hiring are getting the benefits.
