My first thought is maybe twins, but hen I read that high betas could mean abnormalities too. Anyone care to share their betas/number of babies, etc? Mine was 875 at 12 days past a day 5 transfer.
Thx! |

http://www.betabase.info/showBasicChart.php?type=Twin Take a look at these charts. I don't know this for sure but I think high betas are only related to abnormalities later in pregnancy. At this point there is a very large range and I think twins would be a more likely explanation than an early sign of something being wrong. Congrats! |
| Are you the same person who initially got the BFN at 6dp5dt?? Either way, congrats!!! |

Hi, 14:09, I'm not...I actually got a bfp at 5 days past transfer (although not a poster on that thread either!). But thank you!
I have looked at betabase but the average numbers are so much lower than mine I got worried! |
| My first beta was 2500 on 13 days past a day 5 transfer, and it's twins. I'm now about 33 weeks. Good luck! |

I'd think that twins are more likely.
In most of the early losses I hear of low betas. |
| That doesn't seem overly high to me, though it could certainly be twins if you transferred more than 1. My singleton was 900 at 17dpo. |
| I would say single. Doesn't seem that high. |
| Doesn't sound extremely high but you never know. Mine was 875 at 13dp5dt, so 1 day behind you. You never know until you get an ultrasound. |
| Twin Mom here with initial beta 6dp5dt in the 500's. I have a friend whose initial beta was 29 14dp5dt and she didn't believe the pregnancy was going to be okay, especially since she is a cancer survivor, but her ds is alive and well. There is a huge variations in what is normal for those early numbers. |
| I'm 13 weeks along with twins. My first beta at 13dp5dt was in the 1500s. |
| Did you get your progesterone level too? Both my numbers were high and it was indeed twins. |
| Oh, I would say that this is more likely to be a strong pregnancy. I really wouldn't worry about it being too high. |
This is OP, thanks for the reassurance! And congrats to all of you

| Betas can be wacky. My beta at 15dp3dt was 449 and I was pregnant with identical twins. Sometimes there is a correlation and sometimes (like in my case) there is not. |
