| I had really high betas with a singleton - 1003 was my FIRST beta at 14dp5dt. My third beta was in the 7000s. But DD was / is very healthy. No issues with the pregnancy. I agree that there is no correlation. |
| My beta was 1157 at 13dp5dt and it was a singleton (girl). |
| 21:39 here - I have heard (and who knows if this is true - that higher hcg can correlate to girls. This may be a wives tale, but it held true for me. |
I've heard this too and I think it's actually been substantiated in several research studies. So maybe you're having a girl, OP! |
| This is OP and I like that theory! |

Hi OP,
What was the result??? Twins or singleton??? I just got my beta for a single embryo transfer and it is 548 at 12dp5dt. Terrified.
|
| My first beta was 907 and it was a singleton. Lots of variation. Don't worry. |
| Hi, this is OP. Ultrasound last week...2 sacs, one very early heartbeat, the other sac was very small and most likely will not continue to grow. Next ultrasound tomorrow and nervous about all possible scenarios from twins to miscarriage! |
|
Thanks 907! I am guessing that my numbers would be the same for two as they would be for one since there should be only one placenta, but what do I know? But the betas were so low for my daughter--120 at 16dpo.
OP, how many did you transfer? An early heartbeat is good news. Hoping it gets stronger! I know the uncertainty is what gets us... |

Hi 12:07, this is OP and we put back 2 embryos. Like you, I don't know how the numbers would go if there were 2 that were growing. Would betas quadrupled instead of double for 2 separate sacs? Mine doubled perfectly every 24 hours, which makes me wonder if the 2nd one stopped quickly after implantation. If you had identical twins, I also have no idea how that would work with beta doubling or more.
My beats with my DC were also much lower, I feel like maybe 250 at 14dpt. Will you have an ultrasound soon to find something out? Congratulations! |
OP, 12:07 (or terrified, if you'd like!) thanks! My ob scan is next week (friday). i'll let you know. '
|
| My beta was higher than yours and I only have one baby. |
| My beta was 2333 on 18dpo on a natural cycle. I have a singleton. |
| 12:07 here--A singleton!! PHEW! Thanks, ladies! |
This. Try not to put too much worry into the exact numbers! |
