It appears that every one of my 5-year old's leggings have a hole in the knee. She refuses to wear any other kind of pants so she wears leggings everyday and apparently I need to invest in a more sturdy brand.
Suggestions? |
Stay away from Boden and J Crew. We've had bad luck with both brands.
I think Gymboree and Hanna Andersson may have thicker leggings, but it's been a while since I bought them. |
Hanna Andersson, Gymboree and Boden (haven't bought leggings from them in maybe two years but they always held up very well) |
Boden and crewcuts have the best fit but we've had bad luck with knees wearing through this year. Gap seem the most durable. Neither Hanna nor Gymboree work if you want them to be snug fitting. |
How about Target? |
I have found Gymboree hold up the best.
Old Navy and Children's place wear out fairly quickly. Target holds up better than either of those brands. |
I just get 'em at Target. It's like my daughter's knees have teeth. Target ones last 5+ wearings; other brands are usually shot after 2-3.

Hanna Anderson, we get the ones from Costco when they have them. |
Hanna, Target, Gymboree. Gymboree's are more like pants (thicker) than leggings. |
Land's End are pretty sturdy.
H&M not bad either. They have sweater leggings that are good for cold weather. Sweater leggings do lose their shape though. |
I get some from Hanna, but mostly I get a bunch on sale from Gymboree. DD wears leggings practically every day. |
Hanna last the longest. Target are the cheapest. |
The ones we got from H&M this year were like pantyhose! I guess that's what happens when you pay $4.95 ![]() |
I'm a PP. Check out Gymboree.com. They have a large number of leggings on sale. Limited sizes in some of the very cheapest, but you might get lucky on the sizing. I often buy them on sale for the next year. |
The Justice ones don't last long - I have to buy more every 6 weeks! |
