Montgomery County restaurant for dinner for 15-20

Anonymous
My siblings and I are planning a birthday dinner for our father in a few months. We are planning to invite 15-20 people. Does anyone have a recommendation for a restaurant that can a) accomodate a party of that size and b) not cost us more than about $30 per person for dinner and drinks? I would be fine with a predetermined menu (ie choose one of these five entree options, etc) but would prefer not to do a buffet. My father likes Italian and American food. Nothing too adventurous. We do not need a private room but that would be nice.

What about Clyde's Tower Oak Lodge in Rockville.

Positano in Bethesda.

We love Clyde's, I just think it might be a bit out of our price range...unless everyone only has one drink and no one orders an appetizer, salad, or dessert.

We just did a great birthday dinner for 16 at Oro Pomodoro in Rockville Town Center. They have a pretty private space and can do either fixed price or open menu. We did open menu and open bar and the whole thing ended up costing just under $600, including tax and tip. That's about $38/pp when you're through. I highly recommend it. Happy Birthday to your dad!

The new restaurant Range in Chevy Chase has a semi-private room. Not sure it will work with the price range, however.

Range for sure won't work in that price range. Some of their entrees are more than $30.

OP, you can try the Irish Inn in Glen Echo, although not sure you can get drinks unless you drop dessert or appetizers.

Also try Trattoria Sorrento - might work with shared appetizers and a few bottles of wine.

Black Market Bistro?
(On a weeknight--not sure if you could get the space on a busy weekend, but you could try.)

Or maybe Addie's. Same restaurant group, roughly same type menu/price range.

Tragara is Italian and has separate rooms. Food has been good each time I've been there. I'm also a fan of Tower Oaks but they don't have a private room.

Tragara is closed.

Daily Grille. They have a section of the restaurant that can be closed off to seat 15-20 people.
