Feels early for the HGC's. It was 2 years ago but my recollection was more like March.

Yes, the HGC was later, but I'm pretty sure the middle school and high school are around this time.

We got ours today from Takoma and Eastern Middle Schools - dc got into both. We have some tough decisions to make before Feb 22nd.

My son got his today he didn't get accepted into IB at RM, but he got waiting pool at humanities even though he has straight A's maybe I should consider appealing.

It seems many applicants to the Blair CAP program, Poolesville, Blair, and (a few) Richard Montomery magnets got their letters today, acccording to my son.

We got the letter today. Clements.
DD was accepted into math and science program, wait listed in humanity.
She is very happy. She doesn't like writing, and I suspect she didn't try her best during writing test.

Not sure what PP was getting at. But appealing almost never works. You need to present new information, or prove they didn't get key information (like a teacher's rec) for them to do something. Even so, if your son was rejected at RM they might make a "big" concession and put him in the RM wait pool. Which basically means that he wouldn't get in anyway.

Maybe you should leave it alone and let him go to high school with his friends.

An alternative rationalization or hypothesis, she doesn't like writing, she is relatively not as good at it and this was reflected in her performance on the writing test. That's my rationale suspicion. Why don't you appeal?

Great idea. I think you should too.
