My kids attend school on the weekend too. |
Some troll spent a lonely night. Poor you. |
I spent it with you. Did you enjoy? |
My son also got into the Poolesville waiting pool. Does he still have any chances in the waiting pool? |
Yes he does. I know several kids from my kid's school (as many as 30) who had received invitation to all three programs in Poolesville and RM and many of them picked RM. So their seats probably went to other deserving kids in wait pool. I also know many kids in my neighborhood who were picked from the wait pool. In high school the wait pool gets cleared many times before the school starts beacuse kids give up accepted seat if they get cleared from waitpool in something they want. So, do not give up and wait for better results. |
Has everyone who applied heard or just the children who were accepted? |
kids in my community received middle school magnet acceptance, wait list, or reject letters on Saturday 2/03. |
Definately! My nephew was wait listed last year. He wrote a letter to the Poolesville magnet program counselor stating why he is a good candidate to the x program blah blah blah. . . . . He actually went in before the wait list was cleared. If you know a current Poolesville magnet student, ask that student to submit that letter for your son. You may think there is a list of wait listed students in number sequence base on their score, NO, it is not the case. Counselors have piles of wait list students, and they have sole power to simply pick one they see fit. Why not give them a reason to look up your son before he or she dig into that pile. |
He decided to write a letter and send it to the magnet coordinator. Thanks for telling me this! |
When do the hgc letters go out? |
My DC told me today some girl brought her acceptance letter to school proudly showing it off to everyone... |
By April 1. |
I would never let my kids do that. It probably made a lot of people feel bad. |
How inconsiderate. I specifically told DC not to ask anyone in class. If anyone asks, he can tell he was accepted and ask that kid back, and keep the conversation low. |
Busy bodies. Do you want to head to Starbucks? |
