I just bought the Nest stitch diaper bag and I'm so in love with it, I want to use it before baby arrives. The inside zips out so it can be used as a regular bag after this phase is over. It's the same one that Heidi Klum has! ![]() Of course there are more reasonably priced diaper bags but this one made me giddy at the though of carrying it every day. Anyone else buy anything baby related that made them this happy? |
$285!!!???? |
Good God. I'd rather spend our $$$ on our child's education. I guess if you have to blow, then blow. |
I guess not everybody is frightened by the downfall of the economy. |
Oh for goodness sake. No one bitches about all the "Bugaboo vs. Quinny" talk on here. Why give her grief? So she buys an expensive bag - at least it's leather and will probably last her forever. People with money (yes - that's YOU, DCUM's) buy expensive things now and then.
I bought my 3 year old a $50 pair of summer shoes in August. Yeah, he'll only wear them for a month but I love them! |
Good for you! Since DS was born 2 years ago, I've spent so much money on stuff for him and have neglected things for myself. Every mom deserves a treat for herself every once in a while! Which makes me think... I haven't bought anything in a while that makes me that happy. |
And if you look at all the bags out there these days, $285 really isn't a lot. Especially for something you'll use every day. |
Sounds comparable to a coach bag. I wouldn't buy it, but for a person who would/could buy a nice purse what's the difference if it happens to double as a diaper bag? |
Sorry OP, that bag is ugly and wont be in stlye in a year or two. I would have bought the Coach or Kate Spade diaper bag, at least they are classics and could be used for the next baby. The Bliss bag looks Jessica Simpson trashy, IMO. |
I'm all for splurges... I will say though that like strollers, what you want and need in a diaper bag will likely change once you actually experience parenthood. I suspect most of the pricey fancy bags are marketed to appeal to pregnant women rather than current moms. Don't be surprised if you find yourself carrying something much more practical, like a Lands End canvas version or a backpack. |
"everyday" for about 4 months until you write a post asking how to get BM/formula stain out of a Heidi Klum diaper bag, and then you'll realize you can realize you can leave it in the car most times (what are the chances Junior will poop in the 45 min. you're in Target...I mean Nieman Marcus), move a lot more efficiently with a backpack, etc. |
The very first thing I bought for my soon-to-be bundle of joy was a top-of-the-line jogging stroller on Craigslist. Barely used for $200. I felt a bit guilty, especially since we most likely won't be able to use it until late next spring. But running is a HUGE part of my life (or was until I hit my eighth month) and I'll be so much happier with a good stroller than a cheaper, lesser one. hopefully baby will like riding in it!
I didn't splurge on a fancy diaper bag, but I can see doing so if that makes you happy. |
Some people are so mean and judgemental! No one asked (or cares) if you like the bag OP bought or not. She is excited about it and wondered what other splurges people may have bought. Give the woman a break. |
Here, here PP! So true. |
Whether you have a $20, $200 or $2000 diaper bag really doesn't tell me much about your character. However, coming on a site and attacking someone for buying a certain bag does. In addition to coming across as judgemental, you sound jealous and bitter. |
