Can't say why DCU passes over certain kids. Maybe they're just not the type of player they are looking for. But I can say, the ones passed over went to go onto top academy teams. Blessing in disguise.

Where are all these kids today from the dmv that dcu passed on that are now national youth, senior national team and professional stars?

If an academy should be avoided because they passed on someone's son, then every academy on earth should be avoided

People need to stop taking everything personal

What matters is that DCU is not a good situation to be in and if you leave the DMV you are almost guaranteed to be in a better situation than at DCU. Here is a better question ...Where are DCUs kids represented on national youth, senior teams??? DCU hasn't put an academy product in the first team that actually plays decent amount of minutes in at least 5 or 6 years.

I think it's less about taking it personally and more about how shi##y DCU is at spotting and nurturing talent. They take kids for political reasons in a lot of instances (not all) and early developers and pass on kids that may have stronger long term potential than short term potential. They do this because DCU isn't about developing professional players. It is a three/four year system and there is no second team available at DCU to develop further which puts them in a category as the only team in the MLS to not have a second team for their academy players. The ONLY MLS team to operate this way. if you're genuinely serious about your son becoming a professional footballer, DCU cannot be a realistic option. He just won't have the same development opportunities as other, better academies in the country. DCU is just another pathway to college soccer. At best.

And if you do go to DCU you're giving up more than you're getting.

If you want facts, here is a fact. There isn't one player in DCUs academy that will be on the first team or contributing to the first team in the next two years. If DCUs academy isn't producing first team players or regularly selling players from the academy, legitimately, What is it doing?

looks like the dcua defender may have always been right saying the anti-dc movement on this thread is lead by someone who's kid got rejected and has an axe to grind
they finally let it slip and confessed lol

so we're clear, dcua only wanted one of your 3 sons so they're bad
Philly only took the same one of 3 sons, but they're awesome, because they promised they may take the other two later?

Not worried about them. Worried about how DCU is not producing them.

In better environments than DCU. No matter what.
