Great, you can all clear out. I asked a family with three kids that can afford private about fleeing DCPS and they think, just like we do, that their children don't need to change schools to get a great education. I think DC even did better in DL than in person. They might offer DC to skip a grade. Can you imagine DC going to school with similar easy-going high achieving kids once the other ones clear off!
And for PP, I don't know what countries have better private schools than public, but surely not the top 10 of 2018.

There are immigrant families leaving. Unlike superkid who thrives in DL others are suffering. But you know it's bad when they decide El Salvador is better than DC.

Eventually the numbers will probably show an exodus if the schools don't provide families with some decent services.

We are fortunate that we could get our kid in a private preschool/daycare. So we're good for another year, hopefully we're back to normal when he's ready for Kindergarten.

But that is two less pupils that DCPS gets funding for. Plus the $1K/kid I've given Deal each year at the "raise the paddle" auction.

Two families considering leaving DC because jobs may stay perm WFH and they want more space. They both has said the reason they would stay is DCPS. Housing prices is what would drive them away.
