I think that is what will happen. Can’t they use that CoVID money for outside tables, awnings, whatever?!

I'm sure there are some schools that are short on outdoor space, but many schools have plenty of outdoor space to spread out. There's no reason no to have as many kids outdoor for lunch as possible.

I think we will, and agree about lunch.

I think the majority of us agree with outdoor lunch. Our elementary school principal poo pood this because lunches and recess are typically happening at the same time. So having kids eat outside will take up recess area. At this point I’m like a block off parts of the park parking lot or sidewalk or whatever. Just get them outside. Our PTA has a plethora of money that can be used for tents. I’m also guessing if you did a go fund me to help pay for tends to help get kids outdoor lunch to help open schools it would be funded real quick. Especially if you look at the demographic of parents I want their kids back in school.

This is the same problem we have. The blacktop, playground, and field are broken out into four quadrants. Majority of the time, three of those will be used at any time for recess. At most, a class can be outside having lunch.

Get situpons and line kids up (6' apart) along the side of the building or a sidewalk. As long as it's not actively precipitating there is room. You don't need a big square area. A perimeter works. You could even use the landing pad in front of the entrance to the school.

At the high school, I’d use the damn football field. There’s room.

It makes me feel good, though, that we have this vaccine abs the kinks to work out are not so great. We have come a long way, and this is close to being over!!

But now, at most, school will be at half capacity, so not as much space needed for either (lunch or recess)
