Bad comparison. BRYC has had one bad year. They have been one of the better clubs before this year and have a long tradition with some national championship appearances. Metro has never had a good year. Actually have they even had a good weekend? |
BRYC has never had a good year in ECNL, a watered down ECNL at that. One older team does not a club make. BRYC has been an embarrassment considering they are longstanding club in NOVA and Metro is a new startup. |
| There are far worse clubs in the GA than metro |
Current BRYC ECNL standings: U13 12th U14 12th U15 13th U16 12th U17 13th U18/19 5th |
Does BRYC having one bad year change that metro hasn’t had a good year |
| Bethesda also used to be THE place to play for maryland. It's still good but not what it uses to be. You either played for Baltimore Bays or bethesda, and everywhere else was just mediocre. |
No question |
| Not in 2020 and forward though |
| Before Metro united(sprit da) existed and before loudon got ecnl, yes. |
Like who? |
To make an NFL reference, this would be like the NY Jets (no wins) saying look at Jacksonville (1 win). |
Except McLean has always had a better class of college recruits and had more YNT players. They have also had several pros which FCV has not had. If you throw in team success, there is no comparison between McLean and FCV. When FCV can get into the top league, then they can compare themselves with McLean until then lets simmer down. |
The funny thing is as bad as BRYC this year, they would still beat Metro in 4 or 5 age groups. The BRYC U18/19 team would beat any team in the GA by like 4 or 5 goals and Metro by worse. That should tell you the difference between GA and ECNL. Middle and bottom ECNL teams would be top teams in the GA. If BRYC wanted lower competition, they could go to the GA and the league would roll out the red carpet. Every GA club would do anything to get into the ECNL. |
I am not a big fan of FCV but Meghan Nally is a pro and Emily Fox will be and has played for the WNT. |
BRYC is the lower competition and it wouldn’t matter which league they are in, their teams are bad and being on par with Metro is no victory for ECNL or BRYC. |
