| I bet Nancy knew about the book when she held on to the impeachment. The timing is pretty suspect--especially with SOU next week. Just like with Kavanaugh. Save the "best" for last. |
FIFY |
Had you read this already when you posted? “John F. Kelly, the former chief of staff to President Trump, told an audience in Florida on Monday night that he believed the revelations in an upcoming book by John R. Bolton, the president’s former national security adviser, and thought the Senate should call witnesses in the impeachment trial.” https://www.nytimes.com/live/2020/impeachment-trial-live-01-28?smtyp=cur&smid=fb-nytimes#john-kelly-trumps-former-aide-says-he-believes-bolton-and-wants-witnesses |
I'm praying this is the start of a dam breaking. |
| Twenty pages of internal deliberations and executive privilege not invoked. Why? |
Bless them. It's the sole justification for staying there. It was probably Anonymous et al.!!!! |
The timing of the book would have no bearing on the timing of the trial. Regardless of when, Bolton would have to make himself available to the Senate trial. He was never going to stonewall them, then turn around and say it in a book months after the trial. Doing that would be the ultimate f-u to America. Either you keep the secret or you don't. |
He's made it abundantly clear he will testify if subpoenaed. You can't just show up and testify; you need to be subpoenaed. So now it's up to the Senate. |
| The leaking on the left is so predictable... |
Lol, pay no attention to the Man behind the curtain. Look flying monkeys! |
Who on “the left” are you supposing leaked Bolton’s manuscript that had been floating around the White House for a month? |
When do the White House turn left? How did we miss this good news? |
Trump hates snitches. He has that in common with mobsters and drug kingpins. |
They might try. But then again, if the NSC doesn't quash his book, then it's going to come out and make the GOP look bad. |
You have to agree to testify before invoking executive privilege. |
