My DH who is from the UK says that conservatives in the UK are more like moderate liberals here. There isn't really an equivalent political group in the UK for the ultra conservatives in the US.

Also, remember that the UK has had some very powerful queens in their history - times where the empire was at its greatest like during Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria's reign.

Baloney. American conservatives will definitely vote for a woman who is conservative. Which Hillary is not. Unfortunately all too many "conservative" Republican women are not conservatives either, just members of the RINO wing of the party.

There have been plenty of Republican women in leadership positions. What's different from Dem women? They run on their own--not on "identity" politics of being a woman. There are lots more--these are just off the top of my head.

This is like a women in a conservative church "leading" a small group, but no way would that church allow that woman on the pulpit. Those women you listed have topped out.

Also, I know there are some American conservative men who would be fine with a female POTUS, but I question how large that group is. Without the ultra religious right, the Rs wouldn't be as large, and this group doesn't care for a female POTUS.

Look at all of the Dem women in Congress. Nancy Pelosi is hardly playing the woman card. She is badass all by herself. That is such a dumb talking point. Michele Bachman is the craziest person on earth. She needs meds. Liz Cheney? Seriously? Elizabeth Dole rode her husband's coattails. The only person on your list who was worth a damn was Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
