DS's number thats quite high for PK has moved, possibly due to people ahead of her accepting other schools, but DS #2's spot for 3rd hasn't moved at all, which I find odd. His number is much better and I would have expected it to go up or down a little as the other schools on our list have.

we have a low number (less than 10) and have moved just one spot for third

They may be holding back until they are sure siblings of incoming kids have been accomodated. Or having less attrition than anticipated.

Thanks...this is what I'm wondering...I'll eventually give the school a call but don't want to rush it since I'm sure everyone is bombarded with enrollment right now.

Has anyone's Inspired Teaching number for fourth grade moved?

We're #15 for pk3 and it's gone down up, and then back up one. I called the school a few weeks ago to ask about our prospects. The person I spoke with asked her colleagues real quick and said we had a decent chance, but that they don't plan on making offers until after July.

Thanks for this..although I'm not a fan of hearing that they are waiting!

Ugh. Why wait? All that does is affect other schools with the August shuffle!

Original number or current number? I know the family with the #2 spot got called immediately on May 2nd and declined, so the list definitely is moving some.

Current - we started at 22.

DC Bilingual #19
Stokes Brookland Spanish #27

Matched at Stokes EE Spanish.

Swami says find a carpool, that commute is brutal.

Sounds like we need to carpool together!

Swami do you say the same for my numbers?

Stokes BK Spanish - 30
Stokes BK French - 18
ITS - 16

Matched Stokes EE Spanish

I wonder how Swami knows the commute is brutal without knowing where OP lives.

Isn't it along a major commuter route? Unless you live in Anacostia how can the commute not be brutal? (With the possible exception of the East end of the expanded definition of Capitol Hill)

God forbid! Anacostia?!?!?! People actually live EOTR? Shocker?!?!?!

If you do live in anacostia the commute to DC Bilingual is brutal.

The thread is about Stokes EE being a brutal commute. Swami assumes that commute will be bad for Stokes EE, hence, s/he thinks everyone on DCUM is far from EOTR.

Most everyone on DCUM is in fact not EOTR.

If EOTR were well-represented on DCUM then we'd know some of the schools by name. But we don't. Because nobody on DCUM has heard of anything EOTR except for the scandal schools like Ballou. So quit with the "Oh you're so elitist for assuming we're all WOTR" when in fact we're pretty much all WOTR.

Again. Nobody on this board knows of any schools EOTR. So what.

Regardless of east or west of the river. There are quite a few areas that have a reasonable commute to Stokes EE, many are highly representated here on DCUM. It’s just funny to me that people assume that everyone is in Petworth or Brookland. Get out of your bubbles people.

Any thoughts on getting in at Hearst for prek4–currently number 14 on WL.

NP. To be fair to Swami, I think that earlier in the thread the person asking had mentioned their IB school, so Swami isn't just make a sweeping assumption.

0% chance. There are IB families on the wait list for Hearst and the school will be over capacity next year.
