Carter Page reportedly has been the subject of a FISA warrant since 2014!

So no where in any of the reporting is there any suggestion that the Steel Dossier was used to obtain any action for the FISA warrant.
It kind of shoots holes in the theory espoused by Nunes. |
Now people who have read the Nunes Memo are saying that the US Department of Justice thinks Carter Page is a Russian agent and that this is somehow good for Trump. |
Ahh I see, it appears they are starting (going back to?) their spin about "Well sure their was collusion but Trump and his actual confidants/advisers didn't KNOW - they were tricked by a Russian spy - therefore they are innocent, if stupid." |

Oleg Deripaska was at Davos hosting a huge party? Any wonder that Trump went to Davos? |
Yep. And, I hear he had Russian dressing on his salad while there. Treason!!! |
Carter Page wants Nunes memo released because it alleges that Rosenstein illegally approved surveillance of Page based on unvetted claims by Steele/dossier paid by Trump opposition.
Look for Republicans to double down on this narrative. The problem is, the Steel Dossier would not be close to enough to obtain a FISA warrant, so the suggestion that such a warrant was predicated on the Dossier at all, much less solely is a false narrative. But it is very complex and those not paying attention to the details will be intentionally mislead. |
And also Trump was rushin' to get to Davos. Please explain that, Repubs. |
Exactly. Every one who went to her party was her spy. |
Her? |
Mueller works for Trump so it would be perfectly legal for Trump to fire him. Democrats don't understand separation of powers. That why Obama thought he.could legislate things like DACA via executive order when Congress wouldn't pass the laws that he wanted. |
Oleg is pre-op. |
Trump cannot fire Mueller. Only Rosenstein or a replacement DAG can. So if Trump wants Mueller gone, he has to fire Rosenstein, appoint another DAG, and then that person has to agree to fire Mueller. Rosenstein is a republican and Trump appointee. Trump's Department of Justice doesn't want this Nunes memo released. Why do you suppose republicans with insight into the case are fighting Trump on this? |
First of all, whether it is legal/allowable is up for debate. Secondly, even if we assume it is "perfectly legal," this is also about the optics of Trump calling for the firing of Mueller as one action in a long line of actions that strongly suggest he is trying to squelch an investigation into himself. So even if the firing is legal, Congress would be well within their authority to declare it grounds for impeachment or what have you. |
