No, the White House reporters job is not to be the official scribe; their job is to ask questions of the administration on behalf of the American people. As was noted earlier in the thread, the Whie House normally would provide fact sheets on background in advance of an announcement like the immigration reform. In this case, they didn't do that. You are woefully misinformed as to the role of the 4th estate in the American experience. There is a reason why it is included in the FIRST AMENDMENT. |
That exchange between Miller and Acosta yesterday was shameful. I don't like Miller, but he should have stepped off the podium, walked over to Acosta, and bitch slapped him. There's always a decent argument to make on anything, but that wasn't it. Acosta should be removed from the press pool and replaced with a real reporter. |
And let's please remove Miller and replace him with a real spokesperson, too. -- This is an amazing moment. This is an amazing moment. -- |
Acosta made a first class fool of himself and CNN. Sorry, people. |
Acosta has to be one of the dumbest reporters making up the WH press corp. |
Oh, please. Miller was talking absolute bullcrap and he looked ludicrous doing it. Acosta isn't the problem. |
Bitch slap? That would have made for quite the scandal. Miller did not make his case. |

Driving the big rig? |
"Woefully misinformed?" Who talks like that? Get over yourself, Francis. |
He's just constantly trying to go viral so he can impress some desperate 30- and 40-somethings at cocktail parties. He's a creep who sacked his wife of 24 years to chase whores. |
Spot on. James Madison as a URM when you can write essays about your dad fleeing Cuba = total moron. Just a fact. Nobody can deny Miller is sharp as a tack. |
Oh, but I did. And my opinion is still the same. Acosta was way out of line - he didn't just ask a question, he wanted to lecture Miller. Acosta got what he deserved. |
Interestingly, those of you insisting Miller is a white supremacist seem to be extremely familiar with white supremacist catch-phrases and ideology. I would never, ever have equated what Miller said with anything nefarious. You liberals are simply doing what you do best: dialing up the misplaced outrage whenever you think you can get away with it. People don't take you seriously. |
