Trader Joe’s has a woman and her dog shopping then the very next day a different person and dog at giant.... wtf I thought that was a one off but apparently it’s a thing now.

Saw a family with a dog in a grocery store today - strange thing was, no one else seemed to bat an eye. The dog (maybe a Labradoodle?) was clearly a pet not a service dog. The dog was very cute - and the family was walking around like it's the most normal thing in the world to bring your dog everywhere.

I hope you complained to the store manager. If you didn't do it while there, PP, please complain. You should be able to find contact information on the store's or chain's website. If the store has a Twitter account and so do you, tweet at them. Unless those of us who have concerns with this behavior complain about it to store owners, every time, they won't ever develop the spine to start turning away people who try to bring in pets where they shouldn't. And a grocery store is definitely a "shouldn't." We can commiserate here anonymously but we also need to complain to these businesses.

WTF? Of course you can. Your animal is an animal (and not a highly trained service one, at that), not a human being. People do it all the time. You nor your doggy are special. Leave it at home, in the car, or outside.

Nobody will steal your dog!!! If it's such an issue, then leave it at home or in the car and walk it later!!! Stores have no-pet policies for a reason!!! FYI, 2 people in 1 family I know were attacked by the same dog, a supposedly nice, fine dog belonging to their neighbors!!! Also, some of us are in the pharmacy specifically to pick up allergy medications because the problem is already out of control!!! Couple that with extreme fear and uneasiness, and you are creating an absolutely unbearable experience!!!

I hope you’re also getting anxiety meds, you seem a tad worked up.

But you feel you have the right to bring your precious pup into every and any store you choose because of your entitlement? Dogs aren't meant to be an accessory to tote along with you. I love dogs but I don't want your dog in any store other than a pet store, especially if they aren't a service dog and no emotional support dogs aren't a thing.
