Why did you go to different stores? This make no sense to me. Oh, and I spend more that that on my family of 3. |
You went back to the store? Nope. |
I wish I could quit this thread but I just can't! |
OP, if you are still around and still real, please give your two teenage sons a snack allowance each week. You clearly aren't able to take on their nutritional needs (and that is okay!) so they need to be responsible for getting the calories they need. I'd coach them in what they should be eating but honestly give them free reign to fill their bellies however they see fit. I was giving this as a hs athlete and it did wonders for my performance and health. I'd say $30/week per child. |
Okay so, there were almost leftovers again. My son specifically said he loved the food. |
They will still be hungry. You just aren't getting it. ![]() |
Please stop! I cannot stop laughing! And then wanting to cry for your children if you are for real. |
Does this mean they ate everything you prepared? If so, time to make more quantity tomorrow. |
Yep, that's the plan for tonight. Going to Costco today to really stock up. Tonight I want to make chicken pot pie. I'll make 4 9 inch , deep dish pies. I think I'll make broccoli, sweet potato fries and fruit salad as well. Ice cream cake for dessert. |
Four 9-inch pies WILL NOT BE ENOUGH. I REPEAT: FOUR 9-INCH PIES WILL NOT BE ENOUGH.
A nine-inch pie will feed ONE hungry teenager. It's like a personal pie. |
11:23 again: Buy some bigger pans. |
I disagree. I have two active teenagers and they are not being fattened up for slaughter. Geez. A deep dish nine inch pie is too much FAT for any one human to eat who is not a Sumo wrestler or a giant. If you want to know how to eat like a Sumo wrester, here you go: http://www.eatingfree.com/newtrition/nutripedia/did-you-know/how-to-eat-like-a-sumo-wrestler.aspx Otherwise, 4 deep dish chicken pot pies along with the sweet potatoes (I would make about 8) and plenty of broccoli should be enough for 6 people considering the fact that two of the people are normal eaters and two are small kids. I would also be focusing on very heart breakfasts and lunches so that they are not starved at dinner time. |
Costco sells enormous chicken pot pies pre-made. Buy 3 of those. OP you never answered whether the teens were new to you, which would explain your confusion somewhat. |
Pp, I did answer that. I was not in charge of cooking dinner until recently.
Also on a side note, the local Chinese place has a "family deal" that is 3 entrees, 2 apps and 2 quarts of soup and 5 egg rolls for $31.99. It says "for four".i know my kids could eat that by themselves. |
I think that is for my family. Middle aged mom and dad plus 2 small kids. Not athletic teenagers. |
