We all know how clean airplane bathrooms are . As a microbiologist the amount of fecal matter on door handles and faucet knobs is disturbing ...u can't see the bugs but they are there when you swab for them.

You are right. I have read that if you flush and don't close the lid the germs go everywhere!

Imagine being stuck ON the plane! I think we will see passenger revolt in the future.

I am glad I don't travel for work. How many times can they board airlines in Hazmat suits. Restrictions are needed.

People will revolt by not flying.

You do realize we are entering the Holiday season? Not likely.

That dude on the airfrance flight came from Nigeria, and is shaking. He has MALARIA, people. I'm very glad they are checking people on flights and being vigilant, and maybe it is good they are holding the flight for a bit, but this is not an Ebola case. Nigeria has stopped their epidemic.

We are flying for Christmas, and I am getting a bit nervous. I'm just hoping nobody on that Cleveland flight gets Ebola otherwise I don't know if I should just cancel!

An interesting perspective from Europe, virtually identical to here:

During the Nigerian outbreak, two people actually sick with ebola, vomiting etc., travelled by plane, and no one on either flight was infected. Somewhat reassuring for the cleveland flight anyway.

Nina Pham is being moved from Dallas to NIH in Bethesda. She's still in good condition, so I'm not clear on why, except maybe to get her the hell out of that hospital.

Which obviously means that not one single person has ebola in Nigeria.

Yes. On Monday the 20th, Nigeria will be declared Ebola-free by the WHO. There are no cases of Ebola in Nigeria.

It seems like Ebola will spread faster in Europe

I was listening to WTOP this morning. They said that they are starting the ebola screening at dulles. They said 2 hospitals in the area were specifically ready to receive ebola cases from Dulles – Fairfax Inova and Reston Hospital. I live 3 miles from Reston Hospital!

I hope she recovers. And I think you're right about the reasoning for the transfer.
