I run a group of well over 100 people in a major tech company. I am paid well over 7 figures a year to do it. My professor friend has built and sold two companies while at Stanford and is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. I'm pretty sure that we both know quite a bit more about managing large teams than you do. |
Can the 2 of you, as they say on work Zoom calls, take this off-line? |
This seriously depends on the lab. Computational-based labs tends to be way more open to undergraduate research than wet labs. |
No, this slow motion train wreck of neurotics is my mental break from the real world. I feel better about life after every visit. |
I thought you were faculty of a top 3 medical school. Did you also win the Nobel prize? Regardless, you’re not worth engaging, bye. |
While that is true, you would still have difficulty entering a serious computational focused lab as an undergrad. The lowest level most are willing to work with is a grad student if they have adequate funding. |
This is the most idiotic argument bullcrap. Did educational component mandate the whole research team to train an undergraduate? Educational component can take so many forms, including educating a graduate student or training a postdoc. Publishing a research article or a review article, another form of educational component. So many labs don't even take any undergraduates, did they violate the grant clause? |
Everyone is so accomplished on DCUM! |
Never been anywhere near med school and have never mentioned med school. I suspect some defective thinking on your part. This is what I love about this site. People like yourself who are inherently jealous get butthurt and resentful of the successful. I have no reason to lie, it's an anonymous site. I've done enough and seen enough that I have things worth sharing besides the insecurities that so many too out here. And I definitely have nothing to prove to an anonymous audience. There is another thread about people paying $40K for College Counselors. It is very apparent if you read that thread that there are far more 1% income/NW or Income and Net worth chiming in on this site than one might think. Keep eating your jealousy and bitterness, you will get exactly what you deserve. |
Lol this. |
Honey, are you ok? |
Many stats labs love undergrads, so that’s not true in my field, at least. Stat methods may not be chosen by undergrads, but they certainly can help with the computation and model choices. |
Also their kids are genius level. In all honesty I always assume people lie about their salary, net worth, job etc. if the argument can’t stand on its own the rest is noise. |
I can confirm that no one on DCUM exaggerates their accomplishments / wealth / prowess / power. It's a group of very well adjusted people. Really. |
My favorite is the Money forum where there is a massive disconnect between the discussions of incomes and monthly expenses. Everyone makes $500k+ but can’t possibly fathom how a person would spend $10k a month. |
