Completely agree. This perspective was not always the case. There was a time when MCPS could be described as competent and honest.

Unfortunately, the loss of confidence is directly tied to the appointment of Peter Moran as Director in 2018. Since then, we’ve become a criminal enterprise that can be described as crooked, incompetent and criminal. And almost every other central office administrator, other than Chris Cram and Jeff Sullivan have left. Chris and Jeff remain at their same positions. Sneaky Pete has profited, been promoted multiple times, and has created the lack of confidence that burdens our school system now.

Will we have confidence in the system when he’s gone? Probably not. But at least the teachers and administrators will not knowingly go to work knowing that Al Capone is no longer running their passions into oblivion through criminal and immoral conduct.

Sounds like you have an axe to grind with him since you keep bringing up his name in a lot of posts in this forum. Are you a parent or staff member who just didn't get your way and now blame everything that happens on him, or maybe you wish you'd had the chance to climb up the career ladder like he has? Makes me wonder...

Yep. I have an axe to grind with corrupt people who take advantage of children to deepen their pockets. And that is who Peter Moran is, and what he has done is.

You still don't give a reason. Andrew, is it you?

Let’s be honest Pete. There are a lot of people who are disgusted by what a slimy con man you are. Not just Andrew or Jenn.

Got any evidence to back up your obvious smear campaign?

Funny you think he has the time to come here to especially reply to you. You still don't give a reason and sound very bitter. Get help.

Damn. You’re just going to post on every MCPS thread. You posted this same drivel on a thread about another principal. Get a life.

Sure. I’ll stop posting about a con man who exploits children for his personal gain. I’ll get a life.

I think his former students in his time as teacher and school administrator would strongly disagree that he exploits children. You're a disgusting person. If you have any real comcerns, maybe you should bring it up to the superintendent and not hide behind a screen and make these vague accusations on an anonymous forum.

Comical response bro. Ok, let’s hear one singular accomplishment of Peter O. Moran. Let’s hear one.

Also, why would a district administrator with minimal teaching experience be promoted to chief of schools without a singular accomplishment?

If you have dirt on Peter, take it to the press or the OIG.

An impartial judge said the video evidence didn’t support the student getting stepped on and instead supported the student was upset because the student who would leave the classroom and other areas and wander around was not getting his way.

It’s really sad to see this happen. This is why bo one wants to be a special Ed teacher either. No one wants the liability. The parent instead of acknowledging her child can be challenging is even upset he was prevented from eloping by grabbing his sweatshirt. Instead parents like this expect multiple people to follow their child around everyday all over school as the child decides they don’t want to stay in class or the cafeteria.

I don't think this warranted criminal prosecution but he should be terminated from MCPS. It was clear he was physical and used force.

Yes and his past behavior At Barnsley was taken into consideration when they removed him from RCV and listened to the community. This man wasn’t squeaky clean. Hats off to Dr. Taylor for proving he is a man of his word who is repairing the trust

Did you read the letter? Dr. Taylor did not remove him. You vicious parents made it so that he chose not to come. Well done.

Be careful what you wish for RCV parents. Anyone with kids at Barnsley would be happy to tell you how much worse things could be.

You worked so hard to demonize Winter. Karma is a B.

Barnsley’s current principal is a real witch.

I really am puzzled. I haven't seen the video so it is hard to know what really happened. Why is it clear he was physical and used force? The judge certainly didn't seem to think so. If he stomped on a child's foot at 200 pounds he would have most likely fractured, sprained, or bruised the foot. There was no evidence there were any marks. Maybe I am wrong and there were? Is that would you mean by it was clear he used force? And grabbing a child's sweatshirt to prevent a child from running out of a cafeteria is now grounds for termination? Then the kindergarten student runs off and into a dangerous place or off campus and then people would say the child should have been prevented from leaving. If I were that guy I would never want to set foot on a campus again and instead beg to spend the remaining working days biding my time in a district office.

The “impartial” judge allowed a lot of testimony to smear the little kindergartner. She felt that a special needs kid with behavior problems clearly needs and deserves to be treated roughly by a middle aged adult. There are a lot of people out there who don’t believe autism is a true disability or a true diagnosis for that matter. Clearly, the judge was one of them. Otherwise, she would have heard evidence and ruled solely on the incident in question.

This guy had a reputation even prior to being arrested. He is known to be hotheaded and have little patience with special needs children. MCPS was out of their mind placing him at a school with an autism program and thinking there would be no reaction. People can moan all they want about smear campaigns but parents have a right to protect their kids especially in a school system where it’s well known that they have no desire to protect these kids.

I'm going to trust a judge more than anonymous DCUM posters.

Fox 5 has a news story with the video and I just watched it.

I will admit, it doesn’t look great. But I also have to ask myself then why did a judge acquit him? Is there another angle because that video doesn’t look good.
