It’s hard to explain this phenomenon and why OJ freaked out and ran and feared getting killed by cops unless you have generations of stories or experiences of things like this. Cops are just not seen as friends in the black community

Ummm you know that OJ infamously said he wasn’t black, he was OJ, and was chummy with the police before the murders, right? OJ absolutely was not in fear the police would kill him. FFS, they let him lead them on a never ending slow speed chase and return to his home unharmed. Whatever larger point you’re trying to make about the relationship between the Black community and the police really can’t be made with OJ as your example.

OJ was on the cover of Jet Magazine with his first black wife and kids. That’s an all black publication and he did this at his peak. He also donated and was very philanthropic to black causes.

He was an athlete not a politician. What does his one dumb comment “I’m not black, I’m OJ”, which really means he wanted to be seen as a person not a color , and being chummy with police have to do with the fact that he probably was spooked and scared that day of the chase? The drive and the suicide note was one of someone who thought his life was over . Frantic behavior like this doesn’t mean he killed anybody . It could just mean he was terrified and knew he’d be a suspect

You’re moving the goalposts. Sure we can agree OJ was freaked out, but it was not because he thought the police were going to kill him. He was freaked out because he killed 2 people and knew that his life as he knew it, beloved sports icon who had also transcended sports, was over.

This is speculation and can’t be used in a court of law however. The evidence is all that matters and the detective botched things. Ron’s defensive wounds imply he fought a very very strong fight with his attacker . No leather gloves would survive such a vicious defensive fight and stab attack. The scene leads me to believe multiple killers.

Arthritic OJ with bad hands and knees fighting off a martial artist in a death match wouldve led to a pool of his DNA on Ron.

Clearly you’ve drank the kool aid, but you are also (inaccurately) speculating that OJ was freaked out because he was scared of the police or something. You are allowed in court to argue as to the inferences that can be drawn from such a flight, and I think the prosecutors made a mistake in not introducing the chase. Ron wasn’t armed, neither was Nicole, so while I’m sure Ron valiantly fought back, that wouldn’t have destroyed the gloves. Ron did manage to cause a glove to come off and OJ to get cut on the same hand the glove came off
of though and leave drops of blood as he left the crime scene. I don’t completely discount the idea that there was someone else with OJ, hey he even “hypothetically” acknowledges that in that ridiculous “If I Did It” interview. 47 year old, 6 foot 1 inch OJ filled with rage was not some weak, debilitated old man.

Ron and Nicole weren’t even in a relationship. They were platonic friends- something even the Goldman family says. Why would he kill Nicole and Ron if he were this rage filled jealous monster? Ron wasn’t even her boyfriend .

6 foot 1 inch OJ was fat, had a wobbly knock kneed gait, Arthritis in the joints from years as an athlete, had turned to golf in old age, and he was once so afraid of blood on the scene of a movie that the director thought he was too easygoing to play a believable villain . He was not as fit as Ron Goldman who was in his 20’s. Do you know what a martial artist trained in self defense can do? The minute he was on Nicole, Ron would’ve came from behind and choked him to death or at least ran to the kitchen to grab a kitchen knife and call 911. The scene only makes sense to me if there were multiple killers.

I think Ron came upon OJ murdering Nicole, hence the glasses he was returning being found with the bodies. He was the epitome of wrong place, wrong time. OJ was already in a frenzy, and Nicole was probably dead by the time Ron happened on the scene. Just as you’re over exaggerating OJs physical decline at that time, I think you’re also over exaggerating Ron’s physical abilities in the face of an armed OJ Simpson in a frenzy.

It would have been "karma" if he had died right after the criminal trail, or if he had died a horrible and painful death. But the fact that after the trial, he lived for another 29 years, had pensions that reportedly paid him between 100k to 300k annually and lived to 76, means that after the trial (apart from the prison sentence) he lived a life better than many others.

He lived in infamy for those years. He liked being famous and beloved.

A majority of the time, people are abused and killed by people who know them. He was that person.

They had a classical batterer/victim relationship. He beat her many times. Most of this was not brought up at trial. In the OJ film, it said she had written about 60 beatings in her diary. She also broke up with him about a month before the murder. A breakup is the most dangerous time for the woman. This is when an abuser will kill the victim. He had the classic personality of an abuser too: charming, affable to outsiders. People associate that with his celebrity, but he would have probably been charming even if he had not been famous.

He got away with a ton. Even the way the police handled it at the beginning and how they handled her calls before the murder. He got special treatment.

I do see how the Black community supported him. The LAPD was racist, used battering rams to destroy houses during the war on drugs, and this happened soon after Rodney King and those police officers being cleared. Also, he had some brilliant and charismatic lawyers--namely, Johnny Cochran and Barry Scheck.

Nicole’s diaries are questionable . She was also encouraged by her divorce lawyers to exaggerate or falsify domestic abuse claims to get more spousal support from OJ. Kris Jenner tried but failed to do the same thing to Robert Kardashian , an attorney who knew better and left Kris Jenner practically penniless in the divorce so she had to marry Caitlyn

This is my first response in this thread. It's interesting how so many of you are upset that a Black man got away with murder, but never blinked an eye of all the Black men wrongly accused, wrongly convicted, and/or wrongly lynched and executed. Cry me a river.

One has nothing to do with another. We don't let others go free to rights the wrongs of past crimes.

If you don’t see how black people would believe Oj was railroaded by police , then things are really hopeless.

LAPD setting up a crime scene with “blood and DNA” is a common pastime and not just in LA. Often, black men when arrested are clueless and give up blood samples thinking they are helping to clear their name not realizing the cops are trying to set them up and set up a scene. I believe something similar may have happened to Scott Peterson who is white and who I also think is innocent. He just looked guilty because he was a ahole who cheated on his wife. Similarly, OJ was an ahole who abused Nicole .

Darling, there was a car chase!

If he were white, people would say he was mentally distressed or ill.

Maybe he was on the run because he was distraught and knew as a black man, the cops would be after him and maybe kill him. You won’t understand the panic behind running unless you’re black

I believe STRONGLY that he had CTE. I also believe he's a murderer, but how long are we going to condone football as a pastime when we know what it does to player's brains? It's unconscionable.

His recent videos showed no signs of CTE

That makes even less sense to me. You don’t just stumble upon a stabbing like that. Who would have opened the door? Did he have a Key to the house ? He didn’t know Nicole for that long. They weren’t intimate. I believe he was her dealer and he stopped by to drop off a package

OJ said something about multiple killers and so did some neighbors who reported seeing several men .

Not Oj. The cops partied with him. He didn’t fear police like many black people do.

Poster you are confused about the facts of the case. Nicole and Ron were stabbed to death on the walkway outside her condo home on Bundy. There was no evidence of blood or any struggles taking place inside the house.

Nicole’s kids were sleeping. She knew Ron was stopping by to drop the glasses and she took her dog outside and planned to meet Ron out there so as not to wake her kids probably. OJ blitzed her and nearly cut her head off, and he was probably leaning over her when Ron walked up, saw OJ leaning over her lying on the ground, rushed up to intervene and OJ turned around and started plunging the knife into him repeatedly while Ron made defensive attempts but not anything terribly strenuous because he’s already bleeding profusely internally and externally. When neighbors heard the dog barking they went to check and found the bodies lying on the paved path up the doorway with a sea of blood all around them - there are photos you can find on the internet which depict the scene quite gruesomely.
