New poster. Actually in this area only 6 percent of DC voted for Trump. This is a very blue area as are most cities where well educated sophisticated and cultured people live. My kids won’t be living in Texas or Florida. They will most likely live in a city that is cultured and well educated and those cities tend to be blue (not a surprise). The party holding the White House typically loses mid-term seats, think back to the "shellacking" (Obama's word) that happened in 2010. Then at some point the Democrats will win back the White House, and in the next mid-terms, the pendulum will swing back Republican. That is how the two party system works. It's called checks and balances, and prevents government from running away with too much power. Are you ok with that, or do want a one party system?

I'm all for checks and balances and common-sense politics. I'm very much a moderate, and in the past was happy to coexist, be friends with, and have meaningful discourse with Republicans. However, Trump has swung the pendulum towards a different level of unprecedented modern-day hate. It's downright inhumane what's happening these days, and I can't get with anyone who supports that.
