If you declare something to be the opinion of the vast majority you should prepare to back it up with actual stats. |
Lol. I still find him attractive. He did ruin his chest though. Thankfully he still has the arms and other good qualities |
You nailed it. They're the kind of people who are shocked to see a mom wear a two piece bikini to the pool. The large majority of people on here probably consider themselves liberal, but they seem to have some very conservative, uptight views on certain things. Liberals on the West Coast are very different from stuck up East Coast types. And who in their right mind would want to be taken for old money? Old money people are weird and kind of awful, if you know them. |
Not in the least, nor is anyone shocked to see a tattoo. I just think they make you look cheap / unclassy, and obviously I’m not the only one. Lots of my friends have tattoos (…as stated here, they’re pretty darn commonplace now although people still seem to think they’re cool and edgy for getting one) and I haven’t / wouldn’t share this opinion with them; it’s not something I spend much time thinking about or anything. But if you’re asking, yes: they’re not a positive reflection of the person |
Feel free to do so! |
of a certain type...yes |
I would dare you to display similar in a professional setting or interview. |
Do you often show that much skin to an interviewer? I guess that's one way to get a job. |
I'm surprised that a board that is primarily populated by Gen-X and younger people would have so many folks that share attitudes that I would expect from my Baby Boomer parents and Greatest Generation grandparents. I figured the average Gen X person or younger would consider tattoos to be unremarkable, one way or the other, given how common they are these days. I roll my eyes at my MIL when she tells my niece that only sailors and prostitutes from Malmo (she's Danish) get tattoos. There's something oddly fussy and uptight about people on here. |
Not sure how you get "fussy" out of PP's statement. She said she doesn't give it much though but, when asked to do so, has a negative opinion of them. That's far closer to "indifferent" than it is to "fussy and uptight." |
Right. Who is wearing a tank top to a job interview? |
People on here are anonymous and feel free to say what they really think. Most people won't tell you to your face that they think your tattoo was a mistake, so you naively assume they all approve. |
This, exactly. |
I don't care whether you approve or not. I'm just honestly surprised that people actually have an opinion on what other people do with their bodies. Especially people younger than the residents of the Villages. |
Why hide your artwork, if you think it's so beautiful? |
