APS School Board race

I still don’t see how Miranda wins the caucus. Even if she’s got vocal supporters, the APE affiliation has cast doubt with too many voters. It’s too fresh in everyone’s memory.

Yup. She chooses to associate with them, have them on her campaign and in her APE group, and do her dirty work for her. Pretty conniving.

I continue to think Miranda Turner is an excellent candidate, and I agree with PP above saying it's unfair that she is associated with the worst of APE. She also aggressively went after anyone who even slightly disagreed with her on that AEM Facebook group, so let’s not pretend like she was guaranteed the nom otherwise. You obviously enjoy making up your own facts anyway.

I can name the posters on AEM who aggressively and rabidly go after people who disagree with them and are still doing it.

The owner of the group also created a fake account back in 2020/2021 and posted under it for months until someone finally called out the fake account on AEM after it was first exposed here.

So to sum up, any single person running for school board that has the backing of people defending AEM are horrible candidates and who associate with nasty self righteous people.

What? You are saying that the founder of AEM created a fake account? This is quite an accusation. Do you have any actual proof of this?

APE’s budget analysis and recommendations are great. I think they can win a lot of people with it alone

This exactly. Yes, some people in APE were bad, and yes MT has had a leadership role in that organization. But people everywhere behaved badly, and MT was not personally one of them. So I don't get why this push to hold her guilty by association?

And, if you set aside the worst of the COVID times, APE since then has been a great source of information and advocacy, with priorities that are pretty mainstream. MT is a strong candidate and knows a lot about the system and has a record of advocating for these things. That's all a plus for me.

She was certainly comfortable with that behavior - she still *chose* to work closely with those people for years. At least one helped significantly with her last campaign (and is on her current website). She now says she’s “proud” of that work?

Yikes - I completely disagree. As a former key parent (not on the executive committee or anything), I found her to be generally well-liked. This sounds like you have a personal grudge.

There's a lot in just this thread about Erin that makes me worried about her. It's not only this person who has a personal story. They can't all have grudges. I don't know anything about her, never heard of her at all and now she's a SB candidate and taking the spoils. Miranda is more experienced.
