Okay, okay. If you think we should it put it to bed, let's do that.

There’s no evidence to the contrary except for what comes out of Tucker Carlson’s freakishly small mouth.

How quickly the conversation went from "the FBI doesn't do that, duh" to "there's no evidence it happened." Next it will be "so what if they did, it was warranted."

Better than “Ohmagerd, this totally happened because the god kings of my personality cult said so!!!!1!!”

They pretend they're one of them and encourage criminal activity. We don't know that the FBI did that on Jan 6 but they've been warning up that white supremacists are the biggest threat we face as a nation for a couple of years now. It would be a dereliction of duty if they weren't present with all the warning signs they had in advance.

Precisely the issue.

Nope. The “unindicted co-conspirator“ in the Thomas Caldwell indictment is his own wife. It’s not antifa, it’s not BLM, and it’s not the FBI.

And the FBI doesn't just infiltrate random groups and "encourage criminal activity." They infiltrate groups that are already engaged in criminal activity.

Oh, for sure. And they encourage the activity and take an active role in it.

The issue is that if they were indeed there, it’s a problem because the violence still happened. Infiltrating the group is fine. Finding out violence is being planned should be reported.

Perhaps you've forgotten that there were FBI reports to the US Capitol Police that there would be violence on the 6th and that those reports were ignored?

I’ve not forgotten because Parler was one of the main reporters to the FBI! Again, if the FBI knew some people were planning violence, you don’t allow it to happen (and join in). You stop it before it happens.

The Capitol police issue is different. Ignoring reports was stupid and smacks of a political agenda

Gosh, it seems like there should be a thorough, bipartisan investigation so that we can find out exactly who was responsible. All members of Congress should support that, right?

At least one, I will try to find the link. This defendant certainly thought it was an insurrection, though.

Here is a searchable list of the 525 people who have been charged with some crime during the January 6 assault on the Capitol.

This seems significant.

This is coming amid widespread claims by Trump and his propagandists that the violence wasn’t really all that bad or that he didn’t actually intend for the mob he incited to subvert the election’s peaceful conclusion through intimidation and violence.

This newly revealed pressure on the Justice Department came in the days leading right up to that incitement. The more it’s revealed that Trump absolutely did fully intend to subvert the election via corrupt and illicit means to remain in power illegitimately, the harder it is to deny what we all saw with our own eyes.

After failing to accomplish that via his bottomless efforts to corrupt the process, Trump attempted to complete the task with mob political violence. That’s what happened, and the more we learn, the worse it will be.”

Even if there's no bipartisan commission, there are still examinations underway, right? More will come out...

Absolutely. There’s at least two House committees looking into this as well as DOJ. But everything will be tarred by Rs as a partisan witch hunt.

House Select Committee to be announced today.

I hope it’s an absolute beast of a partisan colonoscopy of what the GOP did, why and when as well as all of the GOP power players who helped plan and fund it, and if there were any foreign monies helping the GOP on their treacherous attack on america. And if any of the traitors complain about the partisan nature they can be reminded of their 40 different investigations of Benghazi.

“ During that campaign cycle, McCarthy, then the House’s second-highest-ranking Republican, bragged that the special committee had helped hamstring Clinton’s candidacy. McCarthy is now the House minority leader, and he opposed the proposal for an independent commission on the Jan. 6 attack.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/pelosi-announces-a-select-committee-will-investigate-the-jan-6-attack-on-the-capitol-by-a-pro-trump-mob/2021/06/24/55497282-d4f5-11eb-ae54-515e2f63d37d_story.html

US Attorney General Merrick Garland's statement on Jan 6 prosecutions ==>

“I assure the American people that the Department of Justice will continue to follow the facts in this case and charge what the evidence supports to hold all January 6th perpetrators accountable.”
