Turns out that is not what happened, but there is something going on behind the scenes. The prosecution has asked for juror 6 to be removed and the defense has said they do not agree. The judge responded - everyone will be heard. Whatever that means… So for now, the juror is still there. Maybe we will hear more about this tomorrow. |

Court starts at 1pm today.

The government is seeking to remove one of the jurors, who the defense claims is among the panel’s Black members. It’s not clear exactly what’s driving the prosecution’s bid, aside from “lack of candor,” to seek the juror’s removal. “We were very reluctant to put in this letter, it appeared to be a lack of candor with the court that raises serious issues with us,” lead prosecutor Maurene Comey told the court on Wednesday. “We did not want to do this. We were compelled to do that.” The issue was brought up outside the presence of jurors on Tuesday and defense lawyer Alexandra Shapiro said her side is opposed to removing Juror No. 6, who is Black, and wants a chance to respond to the prosecution’s request. “But if the government is going to put in a letter, you know, we’d like the opportunity to be heard either in writing or tomorrow morning,” according to a transcript of Shapiro’s discussion with the judge and government on Tuesday. |

"A sex worker whose name has come up often in this trial, "Anton," was known to have a "relationship" with another rapper and his wife, "Jane" said. Both Jane and Combs had known in early 2024 that Anton was part of a "relationship" with this other, unnamed artist, the witness said in cross-examination by defense lawyer Teny Geragos." How many rappers associated with Diddy are married.... JayZ and...? |
Kanye. |
| It could be someone less famous. Diddy was around a LOT of people. |
Everyone wants it to be Jay, but people online are pulling up receipts that it's Kanye and his wife. Makes sense, Kanye is the only celebrity who publicly supported Puff. |
| So all of these famous rappers are DL closeted gay men who take out their repressed rage on their public “girlfriends”? |
I really think so. All of them have that zesty look about them that sets off my gaydar, going back to Will Smith and Tupac Shakur 30 plus years ago. Same for all the R&B bands and singers too. |
Thanks for this summary. It seems like the fact that the women stayed with him kind of downplays the coercion angle, no? At the end of the day sex is different from violence and women getting coerced into sex they do not want is often considered just part of a relationship. You see it articulated here on DCUM. not saying I agree with this, but just wondering how the legal element of coercion can be proven when women have sex they do not want all the time. |
So we’ve gone from talking about a serious trial to deciding that every famous Black rapper is secretly gay and violent because… they "look zesty"? Based on what, exactly? Your vibes? This isn’t insight, it’s just tired stereotypes mixed with some weird obsession. Maybe instead of turning this into a gossip-fueled fantasy about closeted rappers, we could focus on actual facts and not whatever your gaydar is telling you from 1992. |
I do see your point. But coercion isn’t just someone being moody or manipulative. In this case, we’re talking about threats, violence, drugging, control over someone’s money and freedom, and isolating them from help. That’s not a rough patch in a relationship; that’s a power dynamic being weaponized to force sex. The idea that a woman "staying" means she wasn’t coerced is one of the oldest myths in abuse cases. Victims stay for all kinds of reasons; fear, trauma bonding, financial dependence, threats, hope things will change, etc. That’s why these charges are based not just on someone’s choice to stay, but on patterns of behavior that meet specific legal thresholds for force, fraud, and coercion. So yeah, the law can and does recognize coercion, even when it happens within a relationship. And honestly, it’s pretty alarming how often it gets downplayed. Especially when victims finally come forward and people still say, “Well, why didn’t she just leave?” |
