| I'm a fifty year old female and my hair is thinning-baldness runs in my family and apparently women can suffer from this as well. To top it off, what little hair I do have is very fine and thin. My scalp is somewhat oily and I cannot go one day with shampooing yet the hair it self is dry. However, if I use any conditioner or leave-in product for the dryness, it weighs my hair down. ARRRRGGGGGGHHH!!!! Anybody have the same problem and know a miracle product? |

Not PP but I think they sell it in the drugstore like CVS with all the other supplements. Or you can go to one of those health food/supplement stores. |

OP here-you've tried this and it works? Not sure I can go the Rogaine route because you have to apply it daily and let it sit for awhile. I don't know when I'd have time to do that. |
| One of the PP's here - I've just started taking it at the recommendation of my fab hair person who has been taking it. When I mentioned it to my 72 year old mom this weekend, she said she has been taking it under her tongue (can probably get this at an Apothecary) and it has visibly worked. |
| I got extensions put in my hair for volume. Not a permanent solution. I'll look into biotion as well. |
My derm recommended using men's rogaine once a day. I put it on about an hour before going to bed and wash my hair in the morning. No big deal. Has made a very big difference. |

Yes, really. If you are serious about wanting to have thicker hair (won't help the dryness, obv.), you need to find a little time in your nighttime routine for Rogaine.
Biotin's sort of an "eh" thing. It certainly doesn't hurt but the impact is nowhere near that of Rogaine. |

This is what I do as well, I use the men's extra strength (5%) once a day (as opposed to the men's regular/women's 2% twice a day) at bedtime. I use the liquid dropper (not the foam) along the part and wherever else it is thinning and it takes about 10 seconds. After 3 months of use my copious shedding significantly decreased and by 12 months my hair volume probably doubled. The CVS/Walgreens generic brands are significantly cheaper than Rogaine and have the exact same active ingredient. To the PP who suggested extensions, I think that would be fine if you have thin and healthy hair, but if you have thin and thinning hair I would be worried about damaging the hair and that in the long run you would be worse off. |
