Just had ER and got 4 eggs. This is our third IVF cycle. The first two cycles, we got 6 eggs (made it to transfer but no BFP). Trying to stay positive but feeling a little discouraged by the low number. We are doing PICSI and immune treatments this round - throwing everything we could think of at this round, but worried about the low number we are starting off with.
Anyone have any success stories from a low number of eggs retrieved? |
My stepsister only had 1! Beautiful schoolage daughter now
|
| We had three and our twins are almost eleven |
| OP here. Thanks for the wonderful success stories. I'm on a bit of an emotional roller coaster here (as I'm sure many of you are familiar with). I'm trying really hard to stay positive and remember that it only takes one. The holidays aren't making things any easier to deal with the emotional ups and downs. Just trying to stay in a good mental place right now until we get more news about the fertilization and development rates. |
| Got our first BFP ever after years of IUI, stim IVF, and then 3 rounds of NCIVF...so only one egg, one embryo, and one baby due in 2 months. |
|
5 eggs
1 crappy, fragmented, slowly growing embryo Child is now just about 3 |
| On my 4th fresh ivf, I only had 6 eggs, but only 4 were mature, and only 2 fertilized. One is my beautiful 11 month old daughter. |
| 2nd round of NCIVF with ICSI for MF, got a bfp today, but number was kind of low = 83....Any hope? I go back on Tues for repeat beta. |
PP we just finished our first round of NCIVF, in the 2ww now. Where did you go CFA, GW, or DF? I don't know much about first beta results but according to my internet md, you are in normal range

First beta was in the low 30s...very big, strong baby boy and no one said the number was low. Try betabase for reassurance! |
| Nanny here- MB is 42 and only had one viable egg.. Beautiful baby girl was born last month! It was their 4th try at IVF after several miscarriages. Keep praying! |
| 7 Eggs retrieved back in 2003 when I was 43 years old. Only 4 made it to transfer. Dropped off an almost eight year old little doll today at school. |
| Just completed my first fresh IVF cycle and am on the 2 week wait. I'm 30 years old with unexplained infertility. They retrieved 5 eggs, 4 fertilized, 1 made it to blast which we transferred and the other 3 did not make it to freeze. |
| Any updates, OP? |
|
OP here. Out of 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized. All were developing on track up until yesterday. In prior cycles we transferred on day 3 so we didn't know how things developed after day 3.
We showed up for a day 5 transfer this morning but only 1 was an early blast. The other two are still growing but not at blast stage yet. So we're going to wait until tomorrow and see where things are. We're trying to decide if we should do a fresh or frozen transfer if we have only one good one. We've heard it helps to let your body detox from the stims. Anyone have any experience with something similar? Could really use some encouraging stories here. Trying to stay positive... |
