Lots of places in Rock Creek Park.

Stay off the paved bike trail--too many high-speed bikes. If they're really little, there are lots of big grassy areas. If you'd like a real trail, get off the bike path into the woods--the horse trails are wide, well-marked, and in most areas not too steep.

Wait, what? The streets?
I hope you mean a park somewhere.

Is there a lot of horse poop on the trails?

C and O canal now works for us with a 5 y.o. When she was younger we were always running after her so she didn't either run into the canal on one side or fall of the edge into the river (MD side) on the other.

All I can associate RCP with are all my gay friends who used to have sex in there at night. The things that occur in RCP when the sun sets make my stomach turn.

Also Locust Grove Nature Center. Above the children's garden, there's a dinosaur trail with the distance traveled compared to years you've gone back in time, and *fossils* buried in the ground.

Honestly, depends where you live. Closest wooded trails would be my top pick
