When Mel made his notorious truth-telling statement about only wanting the show to cast women 45-60 yrs old, he also said he wanted to stay away from fake hair and artificial hips (I assume he meant people who have had a hip replacement). So, he is apparently o.k. with fake lips, breasts, cheek implants, botox, etc. Just no wigs! |

The ladies mostly look great, but do agree some are way overdone. And only one with her natural gray hair, wow. Knew she'd go quickly. Fun, genuine lady but clearly not a match for him. Alaska would be a dealbreaker anyway, unless he he were madly attracted.
I think wanting to look as youthful as you feel on the inside is perfectly fine. We live in a very ageist world, don't blame them for doing what they can to present an attractive front in light of that. |

His ex is not what I expected, a natural beauty. If he sticks with a type, Cheryl is the only one with a comparable look. But his ex is much younger than any of these women. Leopards, spots, and all. |

Excellent question. His ex says he has 20K month/income. They've been fighting for 4 years and she hasn't been able to get her money post-settlement. I think he is paying/paid for his kids private schools though. So expensive mortage plus car(s) plus tuition costs might not leave him very flush. He should absolutely sell the house. |

| The casting directors need to be replaced. They simply don't understand the vast majority of viewers want to see authentic people genuinely looking for love. Charles L over this jerk or a Pascal anyday. And nice, funny Diane over the group of catty, jacked women. |

OH! I miss Charles L so much right now! What a sweet and insightful man! I'm not that impressed with Mel. He does't have emotional IQ -- which is what a lot of these ladies need. And I really feel sorry for the woman who ends up with him thinking he's a "catch" (since ABC picked him as the golden bach)... only to find out afterward that he's a cheapskate who doesn't pay his kids' support and won't pay what his ex wife is legally owed. He's also a sneaky liar since he was claiming he only makes $1000 per month as a named partner in a lawfirm. I mean, c'mon... who is going to believe that! And if it's true, why is ABC peddling this guy, whose annual income is $12k/yr as some great catch???? Does not add up! Cindy and Cheryl and Debbie seem like the best of the bunch -- but they don't deserve to be saddled with a scoundrel like this. |
