In a case like this, where a public takedown of a man's reputation and whole career is being put in jeopardy, it seems to me that we need to know more about the accuser. Even the part of the Safeway and Mark Judge is odd --did she read Judge's book, maybe--apparently, it may tell us when he worked there and the lawyers and Ford know this. She seemed quite insistent that they look that part up. And, when did we first hear about Judge and the Safeway? Was it before or after she hired the lawyers?

Here is a twitter site that has a thread in it that lays it all out pretty well. There are more holes in Ford's story than I had caught. It seems to me that if Kavanaugh is going to be derailed over this, that the therapist notes should be available to the FBI.

There aren’t holes. Yes, I read this, thanks for linking.

The speculation that Ford read Judge’s book to make up the Safeway detail is just a fever dream of conservatives.

There are definitely holes. She goes from attack in her late teens, mid 1980s, and four boys as attackers in her therapist notes to 2 boy attackers, early 1980s then to 1982 specifically, somehow remembering she wasn't driving at the time though she can't remember how she got to and from the party. She can claim the therapist's notes are wrong all she wants, but they aren't corroborating evidence of a summer 1982 attack by 2 boys.

It’s always pleasant to deal with a liar.

You were not present for this therapy session. Your undignified need to paint Ford as a liar has you lying, and staring as fact that Ford misstated something as opposed to her therapist making an error in the notes.
Ford’s story has remained remarkably consistent. And here you sit on a Sunday morning, telling lies.

For me, Kavanaugh’s behavior regarding the Miranda memos and his testimony about it weeks ago is fully disqualifying. But I don’t hate him, and I’m not spreading lies about him.

Her therapist's notes don't corroborate her claim of a 1982 attack by 2 boys. Period.

Myra, they do. You have no idea what you are talking about - but keep talking anyway, it suits you.

That’s not really what Supreme Court justices do - there’s not supposed to be a career path to the highest court.

FYI - we have a similar HHI and we can’t afford our $650,000 house , never mind a 1.3 million dollar house. And we have no law school debts even.

Same. We have a similar income, a $650k house, no other debt and do alright, but could certainly not afford a country club (or two) and two private school tuitions.

This has been discussed ad naseaum. Kavanaugh is the only child of millionaire parents. Is it surprising that he might have family help?

I've read many, many times on this forum that there are a lot of people in DC who have help from wealthy parents for home purchases. Are the Kavanaughs somehow an exception?

Well - was that parental ‘help’ reported as income and taxes paid on it? Because that’s the law.

Yup.

Call me old fashioned, but I’m going to wait for the conclusion of the investigation.

The sham investigation the White House is trying to force, or the real one, that should take place?

Stop moving the goalposts. This is the agreement Flake forced.

A sham investigation? I don't think Collins, Mancin and Murkowski will support that. Why would you support a sham investigation?

Why are you judging an investigation that has just started? Take a deep breath. Plus, it’s Manchin, not Manchin. I doubt Murkowski will vote for him in any event. It’s still more likely than not that he can’t get the votes.

I have no idea who Myra is, but the Washington Post article makes it clear they do not:

Ford said she told no one of the incident in any detail until 2012, when she was in couples therapy with her husband. The therapist’s notes, portions of which were provided by Ford and reviewed by The Washington Post, do not mention Kavanaugh’s name but say she reported that she was attacked by students “from an elitist boys’ school” who went on to become “highly respected and high-ranking members of society in Washington.” The notes say four boys were involved, a discrepancy Ford says was an error on the therapist’s part. Ford said there were four boys at the party but only two in the room.

Notes from an individual therapy session the following year, when she was being treated for what she says have been long-term effects of the incident, show Ford described a “rape attempt” in her late teens.

I have no idea what happened. But if, say, a parent pays an adult child’s credit card bill, the law requires reporting that?

Rich parents often pay for country clubs that’s true. It’s just sad that our allegedly ‘most qualified’ Supreme Court Justice lives in this bubble. It hasn’t been true of other justices - honestly I saw Justice Souter at the public pool on MoCo more than once.

Boo hoo. Bitter.

I’m a different prior poster, but please. Dry your own tears, Ford hater. The HHI to home value ratio makes little sense, and the baseball tix/credit card debt makes even less sense. I’m still nervous for him, and for his wife, for this to be out there. Sneer all you like, none of that is good.

If it’s over 14k in a year, yes.

Why is this somehow sad? Diversity includes the rich no?

I have, too. It's been extremely sad to witness. Her educational and career background would make you think she is a very unlikely candidate for delusions. When she's not talking about them she otherwise sounds extremely normal and reasonable.

Is your MS from Faily Daller U?

Which person was screaming about Yale in direct response to a question about alcohol consumption?

Which person kept crying and talking for 45 minutes, not 20?

Which person failed to answer questions? Which person answered all questions?

Which person can actually produce permits for their renovations?

The FBI investigation will give cover to all these parties to vote yes, barring any new earth shattering revelations. I say he'll be confirmed. The Red Stae senate Dems have a lot to lose.

Perhaps she has multiple personalities. On the stand, she came off as a bumbling bimbo with no memory. She fumbled through her pages endlessly.

PP here. I don't think I would go that far. I agree she came off as having very poor memory - particularly when she claimed she couldn't remember whether she gave the Washington Post her therapist's notes, something that just happened a few months ago. That wasn't remotely believable given the Post wrote that portions of them were provided by Ford to them:

portions of which were provided by Ford and reviewed by The Washington Post

Didn't she claim during the hearing she wasn't sure if she gave them to the Post or whether she just verbally provided it to them? If she only verbally provided them, that's a significant mischaracterization by WaPo.

Think it’s 15 k actually and perhaps double that, if given as a married couple.

That’s true - rich white people who rely on parental wealth and connections and the kindness of buddies MUST be represented. What was I thinking?
