I'm in my 40s, single parent, and just amazed by my 3yr old DD's energy level!
I've been thinking lately that, yes, I'm older, have a lot of responsibility, etc, but still, even taking all this into account, I would love to have even some of the energy my DD has, esp. in the mornings. Most mornings I feel like I could get back in bed about 10 min after I wake up. I'm changing my diet ( more plant-based), eating more protein, trying to add more exercise to my life, taking B-12. I don't think I'm depressed, I have a generally good attitude about life and enjoy it a lot, I'm just wishing I could enjoy it while simultaneously sleeping, LOL. What else can I do to boost my energy levels? Sorry if I'm asking a very simple question, just wondering if anyone has found some magic combination of things not involving drugs/lots of caffeine, etc, that makes you physically able to jump out of bed in the mornings. TIA!! |

It sounds counter-intuitive, but exercise really helps me as does getting plenty of sleep. You're going in the right direction.
I think it's also true that some people are morning people and some people are night owls. I'm wide awake at 5am but DH is groggy until 10:00. In the evenings I'm ready for bed by 7:30 and he's alert until 11:00. |
| Exercise -- a lot and hard/high-intensity. |
| I second exercise, but would also add going gluten free. |

Also, there is a wide variation of normal and you won't magically be able to jump out of what your body can do.
I, for example, am naturally sloth-like, even if it gets a little better with hard exercise, I'll never have the boundless energy of my SIL
Check if you are anemic, too. |
| Oh, I forgot to add - check Vit D levels. |
Regular exercise and at least 7 hours of sleep a night. Going to bed the same time 7 days a week. |
