| Where did you choose? |
| Less than 2 miles from my DHs job. Good Fairfax schools, nice house, nice yard, so it is a win for us all around. |
| This probably doesn't help- I work in Rockville, but DH works in Dupont. We live in Bethesda (near NIH). My commute is easy as pie, his, not so much. |
|
Oakton...dh works out by Dulles. Great schools, large properties. Love it!
|
| We both work in Rockville. We live in Germantown close to Darnestown. Both commute 15to20 min. |
| Work in Alexandria, dh in south arlington. Can't figure out where to buy!!! (rent in dc for now- easy reverse commutes.) |
| Work in Reston. Live in Reston. DH goes to Tyson's. |
| Live in Olney. DH works in Germantown, I work in Rockville. 30 minute commute for both on regular traffic. 20 minutes for me on a good day. |
| Work in downtown DC; DH works at home. We live in North Bethesda, about a mile from the Red Line. |
We really like the location. My commute is 35 minutes door to door. We are about equal distance between Rockville and Bethesda. Very good schools and close to almost everything. |
| We live in Leesburg. I work there, and W works in Chantilly. I go inside the Beltway 1-2x a month for Kennedy Center stuff, zoo trips, etc. (BTW, thanks to whoever in off-topic mentioned Les Miz, I am going to that.) |
| DH works in an exurb and we live in NW DC. Reverse commuting is awesome!! |
| Dh works in Eastern Prince William county. We looked at houses in almost all of Prince William County and also in Stafford county. We ultimately chose to live in Western Prince William County. It just felt like the right neighborhood/community for us. |
|
well, we DID pick a neighborhood in west fairfax halfway between ashburn (him) and lorton (me). Prior to that, we were living in Reston, but there weren't any SFH's in our price range there last year.
Of course, less than a year after we moved, my husband decided to switch jobs and now commutes to stafford county. So we could have looked in south fairfax or prince william had we waited a year to buy up. His gas costs are pretty high, although the commute isn't torture since it is a reverse commute. Just glad we didn't decide to look in ashburn, because he'd have felt obligated to stay in that office and be miserable just to avoid the hellacious commute THAT would have created. |
