We are in a similar situation but wider split: one spouse working in Gaithersburg, one at Metro Center. We live within walking distance of Grosvenor metro.

DH works in Reston, at the intersection of Sunrise Valley and Reston Parkway. We live 6 miles up FFX Cty Parkway in Cascades.

Many of DH's coworkers live in Ashburn and beyond, but for us the appeal of a suburban job was a short commute.

How long does it take him? My DH works in Reston and I'd love to move to Oakton, but I'm worried it would add considerable time to his currently short commute. Are you in the Waples Mill district? Do you like it?

I am the Oakton poster. I love it! It takes dh about 20-30 minutes to get to Sterling from where we are on Vale. Waples Mill is our ES and I can not say enough good things about it! We live on a pipestem and my kids literally run off the bus and have 7 kids to play with.
