In SSIM zone- how is it?

My dc is on target to go here in a few years. Can anyone speak to the strengths, weaknesses and overall impression?

I used to teach next door. Is day swims is a good all around school. I wouldn't say it's the most amazing school on the planet, but I would absolutely feel comfortable sending my child there, and have encouraged many families to send their kids there.

Thanks

We know lots of families whose kids go there, and ours will too. They are happy with it, but they are very involved parents with good students

Not the OP, but in the 'hood with a current 5th grader. Can anyone comment specifically about the math and science options at SSIMS and how they compare to other schools?

I'm thinking about moving to that zone and hear good things about SSIMS. What do people hear about Northwood? Do most SSIMS students go there or do they choose other downcounty high schools?

I think Northwood gets mixed reviews. I don't have a kid there, so I'll refrain from commenting further.

Neighbor's child is in Northwood and they are happy. Kids on my street go to Blair. Different kids choose different schools depending on what they want to focus on and/or how large a school they want to be in.

We have friends with kids in Northwood, they went to ssi and they are very happy and doing very well.
SSI outperforms a lot of other local middle schools from what I heard from a teacher there (stood in line to vote with him and got the lowdown)

Any current feedback on this school? We currently reside in the District and DC attends a dual-language elementary school that's zoned for a poor MS.

We are considering moving and would like our child to attended SSIM.
