Sandy does not seem as intense as I expected. What is your experience?
DC here. Pretty boring.
Really, where in VA do you live. It's horribly windy here and if it lasts all night, it's going to be ugly with lots of damage.
It's about what I expected in Arlington. Our ceiling is leaking, the windows are rattling, and the power went out before 6. Watching the footage of the Delaware and NJ flooding is really depressing.
Just curious OP, what exactly does it take to impress ya?? Tree through the living room? Loss of human life? Bizarre.Post.
Well, it was intense enough to knock out our power.
Traffic has picked up on our street in VA. No clue where these people are headed but there was a point for a few hours where the road was clear.
Compared to Irene, this has been NO WHERE NEAR as bad, but I have to say I'm glad of it. However, it is still picking up. This is obviously something to be careful with. I'm glad we erred on the side of caution. Weather is still somewhat unpredictable both ways. Better to have prepared and had it turn out unnecessary than the reverse.
I think we are all jaded after the derecho.
Count your freaking blessings! Underwhelmed with a hurricane = a good thing!
Ashburn. Underwhelmed here too. No greater intensity than a regular rain storm, just lasting a long time.
Traffic is picking up here too. Less windy than I expected so far.
|
VA is a bit south of a lot of the action, I think.
Very windy and heavy rain in Frederick, MD. Lights keep flickering, but so far so good. |
Our power went out for 40 min. It's back
Where were you during Irene? In Bethesda where I was during Irene it was a non-event. |
