I am not the PP but poeple have right to feel bad about a big chunk of retirement money dissapearing. Seniors may not have kids in school but they pay taxes whoch support schools. BOE has every right to take whatver decision they want but citizens have evry right to express themselves. I don't see a problem with that and not sure why you don't get it.

Redistributing farms is not a good idea as they lose funding and kids will still self segregate.

For me, options 1 & 4 are non-starters because they still leave Wheaton ~120% over capacity. Why build a new school to alleviate overcrowding if we’re not going to actually alleviate overcrowding?

Option 3 is too expensive and a poor use of tax dollars that should be spent on teaching and learning.

2 is the only viable option here but I think they’ll come up with different ones after this comment period.

If the neighborhood is good and your kid can excel at school there is no issue. There is an issue however with your “white” priviledge.
