Don't mistake realty and facts for aggression. And don't get butt hurt when people point out the absurdity of your comments. You quite literally haven't an iota of sense if you think the level of play at Metro League travel teams fielded by 14 and 15 year old is sloppy child's play. These are future D1 all stars. Their skilset is indistinguishable from MLB to the casual observer.

Np
This is utterly hilarious

What do you think Trea Turner was doing when he was 14? Juan Soto? Jeter? Judge? Machado?

It's hilarious how ignorant the posters here are. It's like they think people just decided to be pro ball players at 22.

Like most maasters of a craft, there are years and years of work behind it.

The logic here, if you can call it that, seems to be that since MLB players played baseball at age 14, the skillset of *all* 14 yo Metro League travel team baseball players is "indistinguishable" from the skillset of MLB players.

That's not how this works.

Failed logic unless Turner, Jeter, etc knew at 14 they would be MLB All Stars. Which, of course they didn't. So they should have stopped practicing, right?

Keep flailing.

Those kids absolutely knew (or at least they were in a group where it was a real possibility at that age)

In that scenario then their parents were correct to be involved, no?

yes, but they are also the 1% (probably less). They were getting national accolades by that age. If your kid is pretty good at travel ball, then that isn't them

So you think it's MLB or bust? How about the kids that get full rides to D1 schools? I know 6 kids in the last 10 years who came out of West Springfield with free college, another half dozen from other DC area schools. Parents were wrong to be involved there?

Most baseball games last about 1.5 hours. All baseball games have an official drop dead time limit of 2 hours. No idea where you came up with 3.5, but you are very wrong.

But ya didn't dispute the BORING BORING BORING part. For the love of all things..2 hours is too long.

Generally, when people call baseball boring it's because they don't understand the game. And generally, they are too dim to understand it.

No, baseball is just too long and with too little eye candy. Paunchy dudes in jumpsuits standing around doing very little for the vast majority of the game. With other sports, like soccer, the (very fit) players are always on the move and there's always something to be watching. And they do it all in 90 minutes and change! Perfect sport. There's a reason no one calls baseball the beautiful game. Sorry you're butthurt about it.

There's always something happening in baseball, as long as you know what you are looking for.

Sure, some dude scratching his balls. Riveting.

No? You brought it up and now seem to have some desire to prove to everyone that, what, you made good parenting decisions? Okay, who is disagreeing with you?

Are you like this in real life?

Best friend from childhood got a scholarship to Arizona, played minors in SD for a few years, got signed by the D backs, played a handful of years and pretty much retired with double digit millions by 30. Seemed to work out for him. You'll know by 15 if your kid is looking at 200k in free college or MLB by then. There's a lot in between with D2 and D3 schools. It's a lucrative pipeline. Not everybody signs 23 million dollar deals, but lots and lots and lots of folks find a million or two out of it. There is a metric shit ton of money in pro sports.

Not one person said they shouldn't practice - not one. I don't think you are actually reading anything just blurting drunk protestations. And by the way, watching baseball practice is 10,000 times more boring than the games. So.....

Who said anything about watching practice? And that you think people are drnbk at 7:12 in the morning says a lot more about the company you keep than it says about my world.

I don't know what "drnbk" means but I do know for sure now you are not reading anything people are writing - you are just puffing out your fat dad words. Nope. You brought up someone drnbk at 7:12 in the morning ...not me! I don't know when your boring practices and games are schedules. For the love - please start reading before you type. And stop drnbking!!
