No that's not how it works. You can have friends active in politics and still be a judge in a totally unrelated case. Most judges have friends in politics, because they are political appointees. Scalia was friends with Dick Cheney. Kimba Wood is also friends with Donald Trump's sister, who is a judge in the same district. Maybe DOJ should complain?

It's okay to imply she can’t be unbiased based on the fact that she officiated at a wedding, but it's not okay to imply that Hannity might have some sexual skeletons even though he went to a fixer who has done nothing but write NDAs and fuel hush money (oh and something shady with taxi medallions - maybe Hannity really wanted into the smoking hot taxi business in New York). No, because officiating at someone's wedding does not make you biased in an unrelated case.

But reporting about your own lawyer and keeping it secret is a violation of journalism ethics even if you used him for perfectly innocent reasons. But if all you did was call him for occasional legal advice, why would you hide that?

What is it about Republicans that they think they deserve to be tried by their best friends? Shouldn't you just petition to have the thing moved to Palm Beach? We can have the trial at Mar-a-Lago, and they can pick a judge right off the links there. Is that how it's supposed to work?
