Some of the memos were circulating as far back as last summer. Help me out: is the suggestion that the Russians have found additional information over and beyond what opposition research surfaced?

My understanding is that we don't know exactly what the Russians have and, in fact, they might not have anything. What was discovered were claims by the Russians to have compromising information as well as contacts between the Trump campaign and the Russians. Again, as I understand it, a former British spy gathered the information. There is no new information. What is new is that US intelligence agencies have vetted the former British spy and found that his information is likely believable.

This information alone would be enough to call for Hillary to be put in jail for Trump supporters. But for Trump, they need "more evidence."

Which has what to do with Russia being our enemy or not? You've shifted from a discussion of foreign policy to a fight between petty personalities I wish we never had to deal with. But who runs the country and determines who enemies is worth getting some clarity on before some of you have a complete meltdown.

But there is a lot more than this. There is the Guardian report about the FBI FISA warrants on the Trump campaign. There is Trump's attitude toward Russia, which is otherwise unexplainable. There are reports that the IC briefed Trump on material the Russians have on him. Even if the 35-page report is not true and even if McCain had no part in it, there are lots of other details that are easily verifiable. A congressional investigation has to happen.

Where do you people get that its unexplainable? Russia has lots of oil, a pretty good military, it's culturally closer to the U.S. than many of our putative allies in the Middle East, and its been bombing ISIS and Al-Quaeda in Syria. I realize that isn't standard American elite fare, but it's not exactly 'unexplainable'.

The Russians have been targeting the rebels seeking to depose Assad, not ISIS. You, unlike Gary Johnson, may have heard of Aleppo. Nice try Ivan.

I think you're saying it's illogical to be upset to hear that a country may have blackmail material on the PEOTUS. Because once the PEOTUS is the POTUS, we can be friends with that country. Never mind the bit about the blackmail.
