Why schizophrenia? What information provided (vs notions in your head) seems to point to that?

No doubt they can tell from his eyes.

The scientific method at work.

You can tell a lot from a person's eyes. Don't dismiss the importance of eyes and facial expressions.

Mugshots are known to be completely neutral and objective. Remember, cops are completely incompetent except when it comes to mugshots.

Think what you want. The descriptions of him by students' parents and the woman who was cutting his hair fit his mugshot pics. He is mentally ill.

Still photos are the diagnostic standard for schizophrenia. Or some kind of mental illness. This is known!

Walk through some sites where the unhoused with mental illness camp out or volunteer in a facility that feeds and shelters the homeless. Photos not needed.

This comment makes no sense. “Walk through some sites…” and something there will make it obvious that people with this facial expression in a single still photo are schizophrenics?

Why would you think that? Homicide is rare among those diagnosed with schizophrenia.

If they're experiencing active psychosis...

+1 More than a few of the violent incidents in NYC have involved unhoused individuals with schizophrenia who weren't taking their prescribed medications, according to their family members. .

It's been studied. Homicide is rare among individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia, and even then the crime is usually associated with illicit drug use. Statistics for homicide exist. On the other hand, TBI appears to have a far more common link to violent crime-- studies suggest up to 40% of incarcerated men have prior evidence of TBI.

It is true that only a small number of murders are committed by individuals with schizophrenia; however, families with loved ones who have a diagnosis of schizophrenia but won't/don't take needed medications are fully aware of the aggressive and sometimes violent behaviors demonstrated by those individuals.

The victims were from Montana and South Dakota - very good chance they were MAGA, or libertarian, or even wackadoodle sovereign citizens.

The odds are high that victims and offender were all right leaning so I don’t know that politics will come into the motivation for the random slaughter this guy engaged in.

I will point out that he’s been described by parents of former students as having strange affect, he was released from at least one position for difficulty with classroom management and for judgment issues, and he is the prime age for manifesting full blown serious mental illness like schizophrenia or bipolar, either of which could manifest into florid psychosis.

+1 Totally agree with your last paragraph. He was going to be teaching at his 5th school in four years. It's hard to hide severe mental illness.

There's a "look, an expression" often seen.

Any still photo can capture any expression. Your insistence that this man is identifiably schizophrenic based on what is known today is bizarre.
