NOPE because it's not true.

This is one of several reasons why MYS left. Doubt GA or Next2 would even take them at this point. That said KJ is tight with management so they might keep floundering. Good luck.

This is completely false.

ECNL is not dictating staff to ECNL clubs.

MYS left, because their parent council is primarily represented by boy parents; the board making the decision to leave the FVU partnership for GA/MLS2. Plain and simple, they are looking out for the boys not the girls, because ECNL is the proven pathway for girls not GA. Although equally laughable, because MLS2 is an ECNL Regional League equivalent. MYS took the step down for both boys and girls.

The talent was there, but the coaching was suspect for many of the teams. During the Brave rebuild it began to improve then the craziness of of the Union merger took them 10 steps back. They tried to keep the top players from each group instead of just picking the top 20 or so that showed up for tryouts. They might be the only ECNL team in FFX, but they are competing with a lot of clubs outside of ECNL including some very good small clubs and MLS Next clubs. Arlington and VDA steal a ton of FFX players because they are destination clubs.

Totally, agree that teams were not built on 20 best players at tryouts. The players that were picked for the new merged teams were about half Brave/half Virginia Union. Then the problem became coaching and the politics of the merged teams. Some of the coaches didn't know how to construct their new teams. Coaches didn't admit to it, but I'm sure they were told to try and start an equal number of Brave/Union players on the new merged teams to limit parent complaints. And this policy showed up in the final results. Teams that both Brave and Union handily beat the previous year when they were separate programs, the new FXU merged teams lost to.

Not in our age group. They only took like 2-3 Brave. The rest were Union.

This is such a false narrative. The best players who attended tryout were selected. The 2007 girls had ZERO BRAVE players and only former Union players. No coach was instructed on who to start based on their team of origin. Stop the speculating, it's irresponsible unless you were in the equation.

And it's FVU by the way, not FXU.

Not true.

There is a pause mid June, camps, vacation, etc.

Informal training in July.

Preseason in August.

Three practices a week all season.

I’m not sure who you are but we are an MYS family and attended the town hall. There is no parent council and the reasons MYS left were explained. There is other MYS-FVU gossip that might relate but I don’t want to speculate here.

Bunch of uninformed posting “ ECNL is the proven pathway for girls not GA”. How about next year two other ECNL teams in the area will be moving to GA. U.S Soccer is on a mission after ECNL and they will get what they want. Please Standby. The next episode is loading.

Please go ahead and speculate here. It’s an anonymous blog! Really curious what your gossip is regarding MYS-FVU, because I have heard some interesting rumors as well. Let’s get this chain started….

This is categorically false. Literally zero practices for the rest of the month while every other club is still 2-3 a week. And if we are being honest they haven’t really practiced more than an average of 2 times a week since January with all the random cancelations due to ‘field issues’ They had zero backup plan for snow and cant seem to figure out with all their fields how to maintain 3 reliable practices a week.
