Trump could have come into office, just let the Biden economy roll, passed and implemented the GOP immigration reform bill, continued with foriegn aid, and even tapered it and leave office a hero.

Instead he has

-inflamed our allies
-inflamed our trading partners
-killed hundreds of thousands abroad dependent on our aid for food and medicine, thus inflaming their families
-killing the dollar and our economy
-creating instability at home and abroad
-decimating our economy, one industry at a time


Who needs war and foreign entanglements when Trump can do all of Putin's bidding on the cheap?

This is the playbook that's gotten him elected twice. He's going to go back to that well as many times as he can. It's a variation of DARVO.

Substantively he's out of his depth. This issue is complex, can't be reduced to dollars and cents/winners and losers, and he can't figure out what's in it for him so he doesn't want to talk about it.

Vance is such an empty opportunist who knows where he stands. 50% of his schtick was “don’t get our military involved in foreign wars” before. (The other 50% was something vague about low income whites in middle America and economic collapse/drug addiction……with closing down rehab dollars, cutting uSA jobs and the irrational tariff war plus the war on American labor unions…..he has totally deserted those people as well.) I really don’t know how he sleeps at night and very unclear how his very intelligent wife rationalizes all this to herself. She must know he makes no sense and has no ideological consistency.

Not anytime soon, but a Middle East war is going to be extremely unpopular for both parties. If Trump loses the MAGA movement because of some drawn out Middle Eastern war, he is essentially useless.
